Bloomingdales Shoe Sale & Coupon: Discounts on Sam Edelman Lorissa, Aqua Moxie & more

Friday, February 24th, 2012

Bloomingdales has a Fashionable Fundraiser sale going on right now and, of course, I had to check out all of the women’s shoes they have on discount for 20-40% off – and, let me tell you, there are plenty that I’d like to call my own.  One such pair is the Aqua Moxie strappy sandal pictured above, which is exclusive to Bloomingdales.  I’m loving this soft pink and glitter combo and there’s definitely a Miu Miu-esque vibe going on here, but the price is actually quite nice as well.  Normally $110, they are marked down to $77 and coupon code FASHION12 takes another 15% off to drop the price to $65.45.  Or, the code will give you 20% off your order if it’s $300 or more and you pay with a Bloomingdales card.  Note: There is also a black and gold version, but it’s sold out in most sizes.

Here are some more discount possibilities:

The Sam Edelman Lorissa in fresh new shades – aqua, yellow and bright silver for $200 – plus existing fave PINK for $225 – all get a 15% discount via the coupon code.

The Sam Edelman Novato in this cool colorblock version is priced at $100 and falls to $85 after the code.

The Enzo Angiolini Timga is available in muted pastels…

…or a bold pop of neon.  These are $120 and drop to $102 after coupon.  A purple and black version is also available.

There are plenty of more covetable shoe options available, so be sure to check it out.  The sale and coupon both expire 2/26/12 and shipping is free if you spend over $150.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Spiked for Less: Sam Edelman Lorissa lookalike, Qupid Brulee, and Liliana Angelina

Wednesday, September 21st, 2011

When I saw this spike studded shoe at LuLu’s, I had to take note, mainly because of the spike and stone detail on the back that is clearly inspired by a style we all know.  Yes, the Sam Edelman Lorissa officially has a knockoff.  But, I do use the term “knockoff” loosely, however, as the Qupid shoe does have quite a few differences, which could be viewed as positive or negative depending on the person.  First, it has a much higher platform, which I know some people wished the Lorissa had a bit more of in order to off-set the height of the heel (although the lack of a high platform has its own merits for a certain kind of look).  Also, rather than having the stones and spikes running all the way down the back of the heel like the Lorissa, the Qupid pair extends this detail down the side of the shoe, on the part facing outward.  While the Lorissa is made of genuine suede, the Qupid version is faux leather, or what they describe as vegan leather.  I do like the lace sole on the Qupid pair — it’s a nice touch:

Then there’s the price.  The Lorissa retails for $199.95 – although sale prices can be had — and the Qupid Brulee retails for $73 at LuLu’s.  If you’ve been wanting to try out the look of spikes, but you don’t want to invest too much in what might be considered a passing trend (but a very fun one to wear, I must say), then this might be a more suitable option.  Of course, it’s probably not the most opportune time to buy a white peep toe, if you follow the no-white-after-Labor-Day mantra (or just because we’re getting into the colder months of the year), but I did notice that there’s a black version of this style, as well as white, at for $67.90.

For shoes with spikes at an even lower price point, check out the Liliana Angelina in black, brown, red, or tan at Endless for $40.25.  In this case, you have your spikes over the front of a pointy toe pump and round studs along the back.  If you spend over $100 on your order of eligible styles, including this one, you’ll get 20% off for a limited time.

Update: I came across another shoe much like the Sam Edelman Lorissa or the closed-toe Roza, the Wild Pair Carly, available at Bakers in black or tan for $94.99.

New fall shoes on sale at Endless + more shoes on discount

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Endless is one of my go-to online shoe stores for their wide selection and extra-quick shipping options, but I especially love when they have a good sale on top of all of that.  Right now, they are offering a discount of $25 off $80 on select women’s shoes and more items (update: expired), which is pretty good, but it’s even more notable considering that many eligible styles are new arrivals for fall.  That’s a nice way to get an early discount on something fresh and new for the upcoming season, but there’s also some summer styles eligible as well.  With nearly 2,000 shoe options, there’s definitely plenty to choose from, but one that caught my eye is the pretty Poetic Licence Sweet Dreams (pictured above), which has a very delicate and romantic look with it’s sheer dotted lace detail that runs all the way up to the ankle.  It comes in black, champagne, or dark pink for $129 with free overnight shipping, but falls to $104 after the discount, which is applied automatically during the final stage of checkout.  Here are a couple of more options I found:

The Not Rated Short Stack is another pair from the Not Rated brand with a studded wedge heel very similar to the Jeffrey Campbell Tick.  It comes in white (pictured), black, grey, tan, or yellow for $84.95 with free overnight shipping.  After the discount, you can get them for $59.95.

This pair stood out because of it’s cool black and white giraffe pattern and it’s sweet little price tag for a statement-making fall boot.  Get a little wild in the Michael Antonio Melati, which is $95 before the discount and $70 after.  Free overnight shipping is included and it also comes in an all black version.

I then spotted a nice price on the Sam Edelman Lorissa in Truffle.  It’s marked down to $114.71 and falls to under $100 after the discount – $89.71 with free 2-day shipping to be exact.  There are more options available at various price points depending on the color selected.

For many more, check out all of the shoes on sale.  The $25 discount is available for a limited time (expiration unknown, but the discount will show on the product page if available) and all prices are subject to change.

Update: The $25 off $80 promo listed in this post is now expired.

Fun Shoes for Friday: Sam Edelman Renzo booties with spikes

Friday, June 24th, 2011

Given the ongoing popularity of the Sam Edelman Lorissa, it’s certainly a natural progression to see the style take on a different form.  Going from peep toe pump to closed toe ankle bootie, the spike studded Sam Edelman Renzo will keep it fierce even when the weather cools down later this year.  It’s part of the Sam Edelman Fall 2011 Collection, but available to purchase now in two color options.  We have the “putty” taupe version pictured above, which Bloomingdales offers for $250.  Then we have it in all black:

This one is also available at Bloomingdales, but if you’re going to pay full price to get a jump on this style, you might want to check it out at Endless instead.  They currently offer the black pair only and it’s $250 as well, but also includes free overnight shipping.

I heart the Renzo, but given that I’m still basking in the glow of my newly acquired pink Lorissas, I probably won’t be splurging on a pair in the near future.  But, even though the price is higher than the Lorissa, having the Renzo in boot form will probably negate that Lorissa heel slippage problem I’ve seen a few reports of.  I may get the chance to test this out for myself when I wear my Lorissas out for the first time tonight (on a hot date with the hubby!).  That is, if it would only stop raining *fingers crossed*.  Update: I did wear them out – see a review in the update here.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Shoe Share: My pink Sam Edelman Lorrisa heels

Friday, June 10th, 2011

I’m so excited because my birthday is this week and I definitely had something super-pink and totally spiky in mind as the perfect b-day gift.  I’ve been drooling over the Sam Edelman Lorissa for what seems like forever and, although this is a style that has been available in many color and pattern options, it was the hot pink pair that really won my heart.  Of course, my sweet hubby always knows exactly what I want (after I dropped a few not-so-subtle hints, that is), so now these bad babies are in my hands — and I am thrilled!

The pictures of this shoe really don’t do the color justice.  The pink is super-rich and vibrant and the suede is oh-so-soft.  Then there’s the pewter rhinestones and spikes on the back that really set it off and totally up the glam factor:

I am sooo loving these.  I also find that they feel pretty comfortable, at least so far.  I haven’t had a chance to wear them out yet, which is the true test, but some shoes can be uncomfortable right when you try them on.  I don’t imagine that these will be the shoes I wear when any serious walking is involved, but they feel pretty good for being as high as they are and they don’t strike me as being particularly heavy, which I’ve seen some reviews say.  All in all, this is one of my top shoe purchases to date!

I also had to mention this: My 5-year old daughter, who is a huge Mario Brothers fan, declared these “Bowser shoes” when she first saw them.  And, you know, she might just have a point:

Yes, I can totally see where she’s coming from.

You can find the pink Sam Edelman Lorissa on discount at Karmaloop, where the price is $200 and you can apply coupon code SAVE20 for 20% off and free shipping (exp. unknown, one time use per account). also has them for $225 and coupon code SHOESAVINGS will take $50 off $200 (exp. unknown).  If you’re interested in other color options for even less, check out 6pm for black leather, white or denim for $139.97.

Whatever…stomping fools is my business! – Bowser

Update: I’ve had a couple questions about how these shoes feel when worn out.  I finally had the chance to do just that and I can’t call them comfortable by any means, but they felt much like many of my 4+ heels do after even moderate walking (which for me means I’m pretty much ready to get them off).  They don’t have a very high platform (only 1/2 inch) and I could feel a little more pressure on the lower area of my foot without that extra height in the front to help compensate for the height of the heel.  As far as the heavy back end of the heel goes, I did notice that the back of my foot would occasionally raise up just slightly while walking, but my foot never came completely out of the shoe and it only happened a couple of times.  I went half a size up, but probably could have gone with my true size.  I also haven’t had any problems with the studs and rhinestones falling off so far – they seem quite secure.  That being said, I love them and I definitely had fun wearing them.

Britney Spears loves these shoes from I Am The Femme Fatale MTV special

Monday, April 11th, 2011

Britney Spears is back on the music scene in a big way with the release of her new album Femme Fatale, which is currently #1 on the Billboard 200.  The MTV special I Am The Femme Fatale, which aired April 3, gave fans a behind-the-scenes look at Britney getting ready for the release of her latest album and her surprise concert at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Vegas.  I didn’t catch the special, but I did see a clip for it on one of my fave shows, The Soup, that showed Britney admiring a certain pair of shoes her assistant Brett was wearing during their trip to Starbucks.

Her stud heels are the Sam Edelman Lorissa (which I’ve mentioned here quite a few times) in nude and, according to the clip, Britney also owns them in black.  Britney declares her love for these shoes in the special and it certainly makes sense: The phrase femme fatale means “deadly woman” in French and these spike studded shoes are certainly  fit for anyone in a dangerously sexy state of mind.

The popular style has been released in several color options.  You can find them in nude, black leather, black suede, denim or off white at for $199 with free shipping.  Coupon code VISA takes 20% off and makes them $159.20 (may require Visa payment, expires 6/30/11).  Endless has several of the same color versions along with the “truffle” color for $200 with free 2-day shipping.  Solestruck has the Lorissa in bronze snake, grey python, pewter tan snake and rosegold, plus more color options, for $189.95 with free shipping.  I’m loving them all, but I find myself seriously coveting this pair:

This is the pink Sam Edelman Lorissa, which Bloomingdales offers for $225 along with a leopard option for the same price.  Update: The Sam Edelman Lorissa in pink is also available at Piperlime for $200.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion Shoes: Working it out in Louboutins

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

The cast members of The Real Housewives franchise on Bravo are each quite different in their own way, but if there is one common denominator among the women, it’s that they all love shoes.  And, more often than not, they like to get their footwear fix from Christian Louboutin (as discussed in several of my previous posts).  So, it’s no surprise that we saw plenty of red soles flashing on the The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion for Season 3.  After all, when you have some explainin’ to do for all of your antics during the season, you must have your best power pumps on.  What I didn’t know, however, is that host Andy Cohen also has a thing for shoes.  On Watch What Happens Live, he let us in on a little tradition where he selects his favorite pair of shoes from those worn by the Housewives during the reunion taping.  And, according to this video footage, Andy is all about sparkly and rock ‘n’ roll styles, making him a man after my own heart for sure.  You can see all of the shoes up close in the video, but here’s a rundown of what the ladies wore:

Kandi Burruss wore the Christian Louboutin Miss Fast booties with spike detail.  These were available at Saks for $1,095 at Saks, but are now sold out.

Phaedra Parks wore the Christian Louboutin Ambertina, available for $895 at Barney’s, but only a couple of sizes are left.

NeNe Leakes wore the Christian Louboutin Pigalili in gold.  The silver version is available in limited sizes for $3,545 at Christian Louboutin.

Kim Zolciak wore a nude version of the Christian Louboutin Pigalle spiked pump, like this one in denim.  I don’t see the nude pair for sale online.

Sheree Whitfield wore these $895 Christian Louboutin Maggie heels, which are also sold out.

Cynthia Bailey was the only one not in Louboutins.  She wore a YSL platform pump that appears to be this metallic silver version, available for $895 at YSL.

Andy’s favorite pair was Phaedra’s Ambertina sandal.  Of course, we can’t all splurge like the Housewives do, so I tracked down some shoes that have similar elements, but at a much lower price.  Here’s what I found:

BCBGeneration Flossy boots on sale for $51.99 at Shoemall (originally $129.95).  Act by today and use coupon code SAVE25 for 25% off $25 or more and you’ll score them for just $38.99 (expires 2/23/11).

Fever Raven for $250 at Fever Shoes.

Wild Pair Celeste for $80 at Amazon or for the same price at Bakers.

Betsey Johnson Ice in gold glitter for $85 at Zappos.

Sam Edelman Lorissa spikes heel in nude for $200 at Karmaloop.  Apply coupon code OHSNAP to get 15% off $75, making them $170 (expires 2/28/11).

Paris Hilton Patty for $59.95 at DSW.  Members get free shipping with coupon code SHIPR (expires 3/21/11)

Steve Madden Fantasha for $99.95 at Steve Madden.  Coupon code rmn15f takes 15% off and gives free shipping, making them $84.96 (expiration unknown).
