I’m so happy it’s Friday, aren’t you? In today’s Fun Shoes for Friday, I’m featuring not one, but two amazing shoes that I’ve talked about here on the blog and/or on Facebook before. But, when there’s a new version of a style and it really stands out, it’s definitely worth another mention. Like the Sam Edelman Roza, pictured above. The Roza is very similar to the Sam Edelman Lorissa and it comes in many of the same colors, like nude and black, but it differs with its closed toe and higher 1″ hidden platform. But, honestly, I’m posting about it today because of the color: the new ruby red suede version is gorgeous. I love red heels anyway, but it’s even better that it’s a particularly on-trend shade right now and always a great color choice for the holiday season, making it a fierce party shoe option. You can find it at Nordstrom for $224.95 with free shipping. Update: You can also find this style at Karmaloop for $225 and get 20% off and free shipping with coupon code HTSauce or TREAT (expiration unknown).

I also had to point out these Aldo star heels again. I recently professed my admiration for the first pair Aldo released in more muted tones, but they definitely took it up a notch in the glitz department with this version, which is covered in sequins. Count me in. You can find the Aldo Hafen at Aldo for $100 and apply coupon code getlucky75985 for 15% off (expiration unknown).
Have a great weekend!

I make no secret of the fact that I love shoes that are embellished with all things brilliant and shiny: glitter, rhinestones, crystals, and anything else with the potential to add extra glimmer and oomph to even the most basic of looks –kind of like jewelry, but for the feet. So, today I thought I would highlight what I think is a fine speciman of the aesthetic: The Steve Madden Sparrkk ankle bootie. We’ve seen a ton of peep toe pumps covered in the sparkly stuff, but what I love about this pair is that it comes in a very on-trend ankle bootie style (which has been less common, particularly in a more moderate price range), and it’s covered in rhinestones, which gives a very similar look to the shoes decked out in pricey Swarovski crystals, but for much less. Not that these are exactly what you’d call affordable at $250, but it’s definitely a price that pales in comparison to, say, a Strass Louboutin that can run well into the thousands of dollars. I’m guessing that this pair is likely much more sparkly in person too — I’ve noticed that shoes like this tend to be because photos don’t always catch all of the reflected light. Hmm…maybe I can justify ordering them for myself just so I can let you guys know how much gleam they’re really packing (all in the name of investigative reporting, of course). If you’d like to find out for yourself, you can get the Steve Madden Sparrkk on preorder at Steve Madden for $249.95 with an expected ship date of 10/31.
By the way, Steve Madden coupon code PREF20 will take 20% off your order. I wasn’t sure if it applied to pre-order items, but it is working when applied in the shopping cart. That makes this pair $199.96 (expiration unknown).

Update: Prefer a peep toe pump version? Check out the Steve Madden Cycile in silver or rose gold for $159.95 at Steve Madden. There aren’t many sizes left in silver right now, but you can also find them at Nordstrom for $149.95.

Oh yes, leave it to Jeffrey Campbell to take a Western-inspired boot and amp it up to something completely awesome, à la the Jeffrey Campbell Giddy Stud in black and tan. Even if you aren’t exactly inclined towards the cowgirl aesthetic, you gotta appreciate this modern interpretation of the style, which definitely has a cowgirl-meet-rockstar type of vibe with its wedge heel and studs galore. I can’t help but love it. Apparently, I’m not the only one because it’s already been selling quick at places like Solestruck and LuLus, but I’m still seeing a wide selection of sizes available at Envishoes, where they are priced at $289.95 with free shipping.
Happy Monday!

When I first spotted the Jeffrey Campbell Lita with spikes, it was at Envishoes (which I posted about on Facebook) and I figured the combination of a cult fave like the Lita and the ongoing spike craze would certainly make it a quick sell-out. My premonitions, however obvi they may be, were definitely on point — they not only sold out at places like Envishoes, Eilatan and Solestruck (only size 6 left on preorder), but they also went for upwards of $560 on eBay. Wowza. Whoever bought those may have been better off to hold off a bit because they are now at Karmaloop for $190, which is comparatively waaay less expensive. Karmaloop still has a wide selection of sizes as of now but, of course, this could change at any time. So, if you must have the spiked Lita, you might want to be quick on the draw.

Apparently, these spikes are actually sharp, unlike some spiked shoes that have more of a dull point (making them more bark than bite, you might say). The Lita is already a pretty tough shoe on it’s own, but add sharp spikes to it and it becomes downright dangerous. Proceed with caution, folks!
Note: Karmaloop currently exludes this style from any promo code discounts.
Update: The Lita is on preorder for expected shipment by 11/30/11 at Karmaloop.
Update 2: Akira also has the JC Lita Spike on preorder with an expected release date of 11/9/11. They are priced at $189.90.

Season 2 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills premiered this week and I know a lot of people, including myself, were really looking forward to it after the popularity of the first season. The opening episode, which aired Monday night, was definitely hard to watch given the recent tragedy of cast member Taylor Armstrong’s husband, Russell, taking his life after the season filmed. That whole situation is incredibly sad and Bravo is now re-editing the show, but I’m sure it’ll still be pretty surreal for viewers to watch Taylor knowing what the future holds. Plus, we have other serious situations, like the bitter ongoing fued between sisters Kim and Kyle, Camille getting some of her personal belongings unceremoniously shipped to her from estranged ex-husband Kelsey Grammer, and the addition of the Brandi Glanville, the scorned ex of actor Eddie Cibrian, in future episodes (judging from the previews, her arrival isn’t going to be sugar and spice and everything nice). All in all, it’s hard to say where this season will to take us, but I have to say it’s looking a little bit dark so far. However, there is something that may have lightened the mood, even if just a bit: The pretty shoes they featured worn by Adrienne Maloof and Lisa Vanderpump. I know there are some people looking for these shoes, so here’s a rundown of some of the styles seen on the premiere, plus some options for getting a similar look for less:

We’ll start out with Lisa Vanderpump’s pink heels, which were shown near the beginning of the episode. To be honest, I can’t see the shoes well enough to be absolutely certain on what they are, but I did find out that Lisa has shoe design aspirations and it involves something pink: Her Vander “Pump” (yes, she does have a perfect last name for this) is a style she created with designer Ryan Haber:

This glam pair comes in pink or black and it’s made in suede with Swarovski crystal detail. For those of you that can handle the $902.10 price tag, it’s on preorder at ryanhabercollection.com. If that’s totally out of your price range, but you’d still like to find a pretty pink pump with decorative detail, here are some alternatives:

The Steve Madden Party-R for $129 with free shipping at Shoes.com. Coupon code 15OFF takes 15% off (limited time) and drops the total to $109.65.

The Paris Hilton Sarina on sale for $80.75 at Shoes.com with an extra 15% off using the code mentioned above. Few sizes are left, but you can also get it at Heels.com for $94.99 with free shipping.

Lisa also wore these black pumps with large rhinestones on the top of the shoe and around the ankle strap. We do see a red sole, indicating that these are likely Louboutins (plus, Lisa is known to be a huge fan of the brand), but I haven’t seen this particular style before — perhaps they were never available online or they might be custom made (or maybe I just totally missed them!). If you like the look of the oversized rhinstones around the ankle, you might like this more affordable style:

The Nina Garima in black, ivory or silver for $114.95 at Shoebuy.com. Use coupon code SHOEBUY to get 10% off (limited time) or get a better price in gold or silver at Endless, where they are on sale for $74.74 with free shipping.

On to Adrienne Maloof, who made a big splash last season when she wore sparkly Gianmarco Lorenzi heels. For the dinner party she hosted on the premiere, this lucky lady got to reach into her highly enviable shoe closet for another amazing pair:

This, of course, is the $1,195 Christian Louboutin Lady Clou Spike (seen at Nordstrom), which now appears to be completely unavailable online. But, I think this next pair is a super-hot — and totally available – option for less:

The Sam Edelman Lorna with spiked bow for $136 at Karmaloop. Coupon code 15FALL takes 15% off $75 (exp. 9/30). In addition to the Aged Metal color pictured, it also comes in nude and leopard.

That’s all for the shoes I spied in the first episode, but I also wanted to note that Adrienne Maloof just launched her shoe line and the collection is currently available for preorder. You can find Adrienne Maloof by Charles Jourdan shoes at Isaay.com and they are priced from $195 for flats to $295 for crystal-adorned heels. I definitely noticed some Giuseppe Zanotti inspiration going on; for instance, the Ivy Sandal is very much like the Giuseppe Zanotti E10079. All of the options are really very pretty, but my personal favorite is the Veronica Platform (pictured above) in turquoise - love that color!
Happy Wednesday!

I’ve always really admired the eclectic approach taken by Irregular Choice, but I have to say they are slaying it with some of their new fall styles for 2011. I mean, please, check this shoe out: The Irregular Choice Mayhem, possibly the crown jewel of their current collection – shoes with wings that I find completely amazing. I do see a likely Alexander McQueen influence here — you can see some McQueen wing shoes from fall 2010 pictured over at Nitrolicious — but it’s definitely their own unique interpretation of the look, plus they don’t run thousands of dollars in price. There’s also a black version:

There are so many cool details on this shoe: a stylized silver wing topped with actual feathers, a fuzzy “calf hair” effect on the platform and heel, sparkly detail on both the outside of the shoe and the insole — basically these are blowing my mind right now. I mean, really, what kind of life adventure could winged heels take you on? The sky is the limit.
If you love them too, find them at Irregular Choice in red or black for $195. Update: You can also find them at Must Have Shoes in red or black for the same price.

As I mentioned in Part 1 of my Shoes Seen On TV posts, I have even more hot shoes from the small screen to talk about, so let’s just jump right into Part 2, shall we? Pictured above, we have Rose Byrne, who went on Chelsea Lately wearing some statement-making stunners that Chelsea Handler complimented right away when Rose walked out. I most definitely recognized the Kirkwood aesthetic going on:

Rose wore the Nicholas Kirkwood Lace-Up Lace Platform Sandal, which can be found at Bergdorf for a whopping $1,195. These are ah-mazing, but definitely not a viable option for every budget. To get a style that’s comparable, but much less expensive, check out this pair:

The Sole Boutique Sydney is certainly Kirkwood-inspired with the similar silhouette and crisscross lace detail in the front, but it differs with its trendy cutout platform and even higher heel: 6 inches (wowza) compared to the 5 1/3 inches on the Kirkwoods. You can find these at Karmaloop for $50 and coupon code 10OFF takes $10 off for a limited time.

Moving right along to The Real Housewives, where my little eye can always spy some fab footwear — the New York reunion show was no exception. Now, these reunions are all about stirring up a little controversy but, I must say, some of the “mean girl” behavior went a little far this time (I’m looking at you brunettes! Yeah, ok, Ramona too). However, the ladies always play it nice when it comes to their reunion fashion and I particularly liked Jill Zarin’s look, which included gorgeous lace bow heels. They appear to be this pair:

The Valentino Bow Trim Lace Pump is $885 at Nordstrom, but here are some similarly lacey options that come in at much less:

The Chinese Laundry Hotline in black, which is $70 at Bakers.

The Paris Hilton Senorita in lace for $94.99 with free shipping at Heels.com.
Now a final question: Have you seen any shoes on TV lately that made you swoon? Do share!
