Teresa Giudice shoes on Watch What Happens Live: Black heels with sparkling platform

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

Teresa and Jacqueline from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on 5/23/11 to dish on the latest gossip from the new season with Andy Cohen.  Both ladies looked extra glam on the show, but it was Teresa’s black heels with sparkly platform that, in particular, generated a lot of interest amongst viewers.  I posted some info on my Facebook page yesterday after receiving some requests for info on these shoes, but I’m still seeing more people searching for them, so I thought I would add something here as well.  Teresa’s rhinestone pumps are custom made from a company called The Dazzle Diva and you can see them here:

The Dazzle Diva takes a pair of satin Steve Madden slingbacks and completely blings out the platform and heel in “thousands” of genuine Swarovski crystals.  They’re a bit pricey at $399, but that generally comes with the territory if you prefer Swarovski over regular rhinstones (the differences between the two are discussed on the site here).  They also come in champagne, another gorgeous choice.

If you can’t shell out $399 for these, a few less expensive options include the Menbur Narya in black, the Guess Hondola 2 in black with silver glitter platform, the Lauren Jones Zandra in black and the Beverly Feldman Glitz N Glam in black, each from Endless with free shipping.

N.Y.L.A. Genevieve, a Christian Louboutin spike bow heels lookalike

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

I recently posted about a Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud knockoff in black from Frederick’s of Hollywood and I noted that the shoe looked just like a sold-out style Nordstrom had offered a few months prior, the N.Y.L.A. Genevieve.  Well, I found that the Genevieve is back in action at Nordstrom and it’s now available in a hot new crimson shade.  I’m all about this bright red version, which could also be compared to the Christian Louboutin Lady Clou, another spike studded shoe from CL that came in red.  More good news: If you totally coveted the nude Clou Noeud when it was out, you’ll definitely want to check out this version:

The N.Y.L.A. Genevieve is also back in stock in nude, as well as black, each for $104.95 at Nordstrom.  However, if you prefer the black pair, it’s worth noting that you’ll save more by getting the Frederick’s of Hollywood version for $94 and they’ll give you another $10 off automatically at checkout, making the price $84.  The offer expires 5/29/11.  Update: Frederick’s of Hollywood marked this style down to $79.99 and you get another $10 off at checkout through 6/19/11, making them $69.99.

Update 2: Another knockoff, the Privileged Sheena, is available at LuLu’s and it’s in pale pink!!  Also in black, each for $55.

Haley Reinhart sparkly shoes on American Idol Top 3

Friday, May 20th, 2011

I received an email request to help identify the sparkling silver peep toe platform heels Haley wore on the American Idol Top 3 show on 5/18/11.  First, I must say, I was really sorry to see Haley get voted off this week because that girl has some killer pipes and great style to boot.  I’m sure she has a bright music career ahead of her though – shiny and bright like the shoes she wore in one of her looks from the Top 3 show (pictured above).  Haley donned a pair of sparkle pumps for her performance of the Fleetwood Mac song “Rhiannon” and, while these shoes do appear to have a dark silver uppper, possibly in glitter, I’m thinking that this black sequin pair is likely the one she wore:

This is the Guess Hondola 2, which is a style that has been released in several color options and has the same side cutouts, side buckle and black platform as Haley’s shoes.  And, as you can see in the stock photo, the sequins appear to reflect in silver and this effect is likely magnified under those bright American Idol lights, which might be why it appears to be more of a pewter color on the show.  Of course, it’s also possible that there is (or will be) a dark silver version of this pair, but I don’t see it available in this color right now.

You can find this shoe for $99 with free overnight shipping at Endless.  If you’d rather get your sparkle on in a different color, this pair also comes in blue sequins, gold glitter, silver sequins and a black glitter version with silver glitter platform, each for the same price (some options have free 2-day shipping rather than overnight).

Have a great weekend!

Update 5/23/11:  I also received some questions about Haley’s white platform shoes worn on the Top 3 results show.  After doing some digging, I found out that the shoes (pictured above) are custom designed by a shoe designer who goes by Ms. Misha on Twitter (@4MiShA).  I’m glad to be able to see these shoes up close and, wow, they are gorgeous!  If you want to find out more information, there is an email address listed on her Twitter page where you can contact her.

Hot shoes in cool shades of light & aqua blue

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Lately I’ve really been crushing on shoes in various shades of light blue.  I’ve always loved the lighter side of blue, but these shades haven’t been too terribly common when it comes to footwear.  That’s why I’ve been happy to see more and more styles available in gorgeous shades of soft blue that range from pale baby hues to bolder aqua pastels.  These are colors that generally have a cool, calming effect when you look at them, much like gazing at a clear sky or tropical ocean might do, and they tend to convey a fresh, clean look.  One fine speciman is the Jeffrey Campbell Garett, available at Envishoes for $144.95, which combines aqua suede and a Valentino-esque bow with dark blue and light green accents.  This is one of my favorites, but there are definitely more to consider, so let’s it check out:

Aldo Frankenberg sandals with a crisp pop of blue for $110 at Aldo.com.

Rachel Roy Zahira in light blue for $119 at rachelroy.com.

Pour La Victoire Irina in aqua for $179.99 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Sole Boutique Mamie for $70 at Karmaloop.

Jeffrey Campbell Shy Town for $148 at Lori’s Shoes.

Jeffrey Campbell Tick in light blue for $180 at Karmaloop.

I’m loving all of the above, but if you really want to make a statement with aqua blue, you mix it with fiery shades of pink and orange à la the Jeffrey Campbell Munroe.  With its unabashedly bright color palette and extra-bold styling (love the two-toned platform!), this shoe definitely has the makings of a quintessential fun summer shoe.  Find them at Lori’s Shoes for $140 or at Envishoes for $144.95.

Note: To get a discount on Karmaloop orders, use coupon code SAVE20 to get 20% off $100 and free shipping (first time users only) or try ROCKIT for 15% off $75 (expiration unknown).  For Aldo orders, use 349147751 to get 10% off (expiration unknown).

More or Less: Fendi Cinderella knockoff by Colin Stuart

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

You may remember the Spring 2010 Fendi Cinderella (pictured above) as one of the “it” high-end designer styles from last year.  This shoe was worn by a plethora of celebs, including Demi Moore in a Rachel Zoe-styled Harper’s Bazaar shoot and Whitney Port in a promotional photo shoot for MTV’s The City, both of which I posted about here.  Of course, I always try to find similar, lower-priced options for those who want a comparable look, but can’t afford the over-the-top price (plus, these have long since sold out).  At the time I posted about these, I was able to track down scarf shoes with fabric that wraps around the ankle and plenty of shoes with clear lucite heels (you know, the extra sexy ones), but I couldn’t locate a pair that combined both.  But, now we have these:

The Colin Stuart Wrapped Platform Sandal is a lookalike for the Fendi Cinderella, but it’s far less expensive.  Of course, at this price point, the fabric isn’t as luxurious and the platform is definitely a lot lower, but personally I appreciate this detail.  It can be a fine line when wearing clear heels and I feel like the half-inch platform is more subdued and wearable, while still providing the intended effect.  I also like the pretty pink upper on this pair, which is available at Victoria’s Secret for $70 (originally $88).  Additional color options include cream, black or grey and you get free shipping if you spend $100 or more via coupon code SHIPVS11 (exp 5/19/11).

Beautiful Blue Bridal Shoes: Pour La Victoire Cristella, Blissa & Giada

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

I have a lot of people who come to this site looking for blue wedding shoes, plus we had the big royal wedding over the weekend, so I thought today would be a good day to turn the spotlight on some royally blue heels that are perfect for fulfilling the ’something blue’ tradition for brides.  The shoes that have caught my attention lately are from the Pour La Victoire Bridal and Evening collection and, oh my, some of their new styles are absolutely gorgeous.  One of my favorites is the Pour La Victoire Cristella (above), a stunning blue satin heel with bow detail available at Zappos for $159 with free shipping.  If you aren’t looking for blue, you can also get this pair in nude, red or black.  Let’s check out the nude version:

Love this one, but let’s check out another option in blue:

This is the Pour La Victoire Blissa and it’s also available in black or nude, each for $179 with free shipping at Zappos.

I may have saved the best for last, though, the Pour La Victoire Giada in ivory with ruffle detail and large rhinestone embellishments.  This one doesn’t have the blue upper, obviously, but check out the underside:

The sole is entirely in Tiffany-esque blue and has a “Do” written in crystals across the center (I’m assuming the other shoe says “I”).  Too perfect, and you can get it for $159 with free shipping at Zappos.  This style also comes in black or red, but these versions do not have the blue “I Do” sole.

For more options, check out all of the Pour La Victoire bridal shoes at Zappos.

Update: Order from Pourlavictoire.com and you can get $50 off your total via coupon code LAUNCH (expiration unknown).  Here’s a link to their selection of wedding shoes.
