White sparkly wedding shoes + purple rhinestone bow bridal heels

Monday, March 19th, 2012

I’ve talked about the gorgeous Enzo Angiolini Show You in blush before, but I had to mention the style again when I laid eyes on the white version (above), which I imagine many brides-to-be will fall head over heels in love with.  It’s not that you have to be walking down the aisle to wear them, but they are particularly well-suited for the occasion.  The all-over rhinestone detail gives a look that’s similar to those pricey Swarovski crystal encrusted heels, which tend to be hundreds or even thousands of dollars (Case in point: The Louboutin Sexy Strass for $3,095).  And while we have seen an ongoing trend for wearing bold pops of color in wedding shoes, there will still be plenty of people who prefer to keep their ensemble in traditional head-to-toe white, but perhaps with some serious sparkle added in.  The Enzos provide plenty of that and I really love the way the white upper looks against the irridescent crystals - beautiful!  If you’re enamoured with them too, you can find them at Nordstrom for $159.95.

Update: I also just came across the Enzo Angiolini Show You in Dark Pink, which is available for $150 with free shipping at Zappos.  You can also find these in White, Dark Pink, and Dark Blue at Endless for $150 to $159 with free shipping.

While we’re on the topic of bridal shoes, I also had a request on Facebook to help find the Steve Madden Luvly in purple (above), another shoe I’ve previously mentioned, for an upcoming wedding.  Like the Enzos, this is a gorgeous option that offers plenty of sparkle, this time with a large rhinestone bow.  It appears to be sold out everywhere, but I do currently see two listings at Ebay for a size 7 or 7.5 and they are new in box from a top-rated seller.  That’s an option if the sizes are right, but a very similar look could be achieved using a shoe clip.  Here’s an example of a shoe and a clip that could create the desired effect:

Pink Margarita White Bridal Shoes dyed in purple for $94 ($80 plus $14 dye charge) at Bridalshoes.com.

Rhinestone Bow Shoe Clips for $36 at Etsy.

Another advantage to this option is the ability to detach the clip to wear on other shoes after the wedding day.

Hopefully this helps out!

Sam Edelman Pixie pointy toe heels with spikes

Friday, March 16th, 2012

Sam Edelman has done it again!  The brand has a knack for producing highly covetable spike studded shoes, like the Lorissa and several others, and this new style is definitely no exception.  The Sam Edelman Pixie has a pointed toe, cutaway sides, a satin upper, and all-over spike and stud detail, which give it a super-sexy, glam vibe, but in that untamed way that shoes with spikes tend to convey - and I LOVE it.  While the Pixie isn’t what you’d call inexpensive at $174.95, it’s in the realm of possiblity compared to, say, some of the spiked heels we’ve seen from Louboutin and other luxe designers.  You can find this style at Nordstrom and a black version is also available in addition to the Dusty Rose color pictured above.

Have a great weekend!

Find My Shoes: Jimmy Choo Bello look-alike + low heel clear crystal shoes

Friday, March 9th, 2012

Happy Friday to everyone!  Today, I’m talking about two requests I received to help find bridal shoes and, since the inquiries were somewhat similar, I’m going to include them both in one Find My Shoes post.  The first request is for a more affordable version of the gorgeous Jimmy Choo Bello wedge you see pictured above (love!) and the other is for a low-heel, crystal-covered shoe, preferably with a clear upper.  So, I set my sights on some similar options and found some potential pairs.  Let’s dive right in, shall we?

First, we have options for the wedge.  I find that the sparkling, textured upper, the slim silhouette, and the wedge heel (3.5 inches, no high platform) are the three features that stand out most on the Jimmy Choo pair, which are priced at $595 at Nordstrom.  While I didn’t see any lower-priced options with these exact features, I did find shoes that incorporate at least two out of three, so they could be possibilities based on which elements matter most to the wearer.  I think the closest look to the Choos overall is the Butter Calm in silver (above), which is $304 at Amazon.  Here are some more:

Nina Fern for $78.95 at Nordstrom.

Nine West Flax in Light Gold on sale for $58.65 with free shipping at 6pm.

Enzo Angiolini Roxas for $99 at Bloomingdales.

Touch Ups Autumn for $89.95 at Onlineshoes.com.  Coupon code 2WINDY10 takes 10% off regularly-priced items through 3/31/12.

J.Renee Arlinda in silver for $52.11 with free 2-day shipping from Endless.

Lulu Townsend Chic for $49.95 at DSW.

Celeste Marisa-03 for $70.99 with free 2-day shipping from Endless.

If none of these quite fit, perhaps a custom shoe is in order.  The “blank slate” wedge you see above is one style that’s available at Milk & Honey Shoes, a site that offers the option to choose from various shoe styles and add the exact options you want,  such as material, heel height, and more for a price of $275.

Now, we have options for the low-heeled clear shoes with crystals - A Cinderella slipper, you might say, and one that is around two inches or less in the heel.  Here’s what I found:

Lava Melody-3065 for $49.95 or the similar Lava Riviera-3025 for $44.95 at MetallicBridalShoes.com.

Lava Dawn-3095 for $54.95 at MetallicBridalShoes.com.

Cinderella Slippers for $29.95 at Pyramid Collection.

Melissa Ultragirl + J. Maskrey flat for $350 at Endless.

Touch Ups Candy for $74.95 with free shipping at Onlineshoes.com.  Coupon code 2WINDY10 takes 10% off regularly-priced items through 3/31/12.

Steve Madden I-Dreamy for $49.98 at Stevemadden.com.

Another option might be purchasing a completely clear shoe and adding crystals to it, either through a company or individual that provides this type of service or even DIY it if you feel so inclined.  Here are some shoes that could work for this type of scenario:

Touch Ups Cinderella for $55.95 with free shipping at Shoebuy.  Coupon EMLSPRINGAHEAD12 takes 20% off through 3/11/12.

Vaneli Briseis on sale for $36.60 with free shipping at 6pm.

Update - More options I came across:

Express Glitter Open-Toe Midi-Wedge on sale for $34.93 at Express.  I also found a flat clear sandal with rhinestone detail at Aldo, the Aldo Resteika for $40.

Annie Bobby II for $39.95 at DSW.

Update 2: Another option for the Jimmy Choos with similar detail on the upper and a silver metallic heel:

J. Renee Selah for $104.95 at Nordstrom.

Hopefully this helps and thanks for the requests.

Have a great weekend!

Spring Shoes from Poetic Licence: Good To Be Bad & A Fling Thing

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

Spring is definitely the best time of year for shoe lovers.  The shoes literally bloom in a variety of colors, shapes, and pretty little details, and you no longer have to worry about pesky, sensible things like bundling up in the cold and covering your toes.  I’m definitely enjoying looking at the new styles coming out and one brand that tends to be particularly on point this time of year is Poetic Licence.  In fact, one style from the brand actually has me coming down with a case of spring fever - it’s that hot!  The Poetic Licence Good To Be Bad (pictured above) has super-pretty teardrop cutout detail around the heel and an extra dose of glam via the sparkly rhinestone flower accent.  I’m partial to the natural version, but it also comes in grey and purple:

Both versions of the Poetic Licence Good To Be Bad are availabe at Endless for $149 with free shipping.

Speaking of Poetic Licence, here is another style I’m finding hard to resist:

Poetic Licence A Fling Thing in red or natural for $149 with free shipping from Endless.  They do floral shoes so well, don’t they?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Shoes from the Oscars 2012: Melissa McCarthy in Brian Atwood & Angelina Jolie in Ferragamo

Monday, February 27th, 2012

I love to watch the fashion at the Oscars, but my one gripe is that you can’t see the shoes!  We know there’s plenty of fabulous footwear strolling around the red carpet for sure, but they’re often lost under a sea of chiffon and silk and taffeta.  But, while watching the E! pre-show special, I did take note of one sweet shoe story: That of actress Melissa McCarthy and shoe designer Brian Atwood.  Melissa, who received a nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the movie Bridesmaids, told Ryan Seacrest that her clutch and shoes were custom designed by Atwood.  Even better, she went on to say that they’ve been friends since high school and that he signed her shoes “To my best friend Melissa McCarthy”.  After hearing that, I had to see the shoes:

From @Brian_Atwood on Twitter

These are the heels she wore and they’re definitely gorgeous princess shoes, plus even more special that they were custom designed by a good friend, who just happens to be an amazing shoe designer.  Of course, at this blog, we’re all about the budget-friendly alternatives to high-end designer pairs.  If you love the look of this sparkly peep toe pump, but want to find it for less, here are a few options:

Steve Madden Cycile in silver for $89.99 with free shipping at 6pm.

Chinese Laundry Hey There for $65.55 with free shipping from Shoes.com.  Coupon code SECRET20 takes 20% off, making them $52.44 (exp 3/6/12).

Then there’s Angelina Jolie, who definitely showed plenty of leg - right leg, to be specific - at the Oscars.  Angelina is gorgeous and I have to admit I found her Oscar vamping fun, but I do think she missed a bit of an opportunity in regards to her shoes.  She wore a Ferragamo pair that looks much like these black satin peep toe heels, available for $425 at YOOX (limited sizes):

These are great shoes, make no mistake, but I must say that her high-slit black dress offered the perfect opportunity to showcase an even more dramatic, show-stopping style.  Gucci perhaps?

Gucci Ophelie heels for $1,195 at Saks.

That’s just me, but she still looked amazing.

Any more Oscars shoes that you took note of?  Let us know in the comments or on Facebook!

Bloomingdales has a Fashionable Fundraiser sale going on right now and, of course, I had to check out all of the women’s shoes they have on discount for 20-40% off - and, let me tell you, there are plenty that I’d like to call my own.  One such pair is the Aqua Moxie strappy sandal pictured above, which is exclusive to Bloomingdales.  I’m loving this soft pink and glitter combo and there’s definitely a Miu Miu-esque vibe going on here, but the price is actually quite nice as well.  Normally $110, they are marked down to $77 and coupon code FASHION12 takes another 15% off to drop the price to $65.45.  Or, the code will give you 20% off your order if it’s $300 or more and you pay with a Bloomingdales card.  Note: There is also a black and gold version, but it’s sold out in most sizes.

Here are some more discount possibilities:

The Sam Edelman Lorissa in fresh new shades - aqua, yellow and bright silver for $200 - plus existing fave PINK for $225 - all get a 15% discount via the coupon code.

The Sam Edelman Novato in this cool colorblock version is priced at $100 and falls to $85 after the code.

The Enzo Angiolini Timga is available in muted pastels…

…or a bold pop of neon.  These are $120 and drop to $102 after coupon.  A purple and black version is also available.

There are plenty of more covetable shoe options available, so be sure to check it out.  The sale and coupon both expire 2/26/12 and shipping is free if you spend over $150.

Have a wonderful weekend!
