Gretchen Rossi shoes on The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

It was reunion time again this week for The Real Housewives of Orange County, which always means getting dolled up and totally breaking out the claws.  That’s exactly what the OC ladies did for the 2-part special, which included finger pointing, name calling, accusations, walking off the stage — basically everything we’ve come to expect from these get togethers.  Even host Andy was particularly on his game, asking all of the hard-hitting questions and totally calling the Housewives out when they tried to pull a non-answer on him.  He’s so tough.  Love Andy.

The Housewives all donned high heels to dish out the theatrics, but it was Gretchen Rossi’s sparkly ankle cuff sandals that probably stood out the most.  She wore them with a gorgeous pink Lipsy one shoulder dress and, I must say, this seems to be one of her favorite pairs of shoes because she also wore them for a Watch What Happens Live appearance, which I posted about after finding the shoes by request.  The Report Signature Vanderbuilt (pictured above from Endless, also listed in a different spelling as the Report Signature Vanderbilt at Bluefly) appears to be silver, but it’s actually covered in ivory beads.  Definitely a super-hot heel, but also completely sold out online.  If you like the black version, I noticed a few pairs for sale on eBay.  You can also check out my previous post on Gretchen’s reunion shoes for some similar alternatives.

Fun Shoes for Friday: Not Rated Razzle Dazzle sequin flats

Friday, June 3rd, 2011

We all love the look of heels, but flats are where it’s at when you need increased comfort and wearability for certain weekend activities.  Of course, losing the heels doesn’t mean you can’t get a bit fancy.  The Not Rated Razzle Dazzle flat (above) caught my eye for being completely covered in sequins and studs, which makes it a nice choice to add some shimmer and shine to a more casual look.  Even better, the sale price is totally on point: A mere $21.97 (regularly $49.95) at Endless will add these to your shoe collection in your choice of silver, gold or black with 2-day shipping also being free.  That’s what I call some cute cheap flats, no buyer’s remorse included.

Happy Friday!

Memorial Day shoes sales & coupons 2011

Friday, May 27th, 2011

If there’s one thing you can be assured of on Memorial Day weekend, it’s that there WILL be sales…and lots of them.  If your holiday activities include a little shoe shopping, you’ll probably want to know which stores are offering the best discounts so you can get your savings on.  That’s why I’ve rounded up a great big list of sales and coupons that’ll knock a nice chunk of change off your shoe purchase, making both your feet and your wallet happy.  Here’s the rundown of what I’ve seen so far:

Pour La Victoire recently launched their own online store and I received word from a company rep that coupon code LAUNCH will take an additional $50 off any order (expiration unknown).  While not specifically for Memorial Day, it’s still a sweet discount on must-haves like the Irina and their selection of bridal shoes.  Shipping is also free.

Aldo takes an additional 30% off women’s sale sandals (discount reflected in product price), but you can also apply coupon code GLAMOUR to get another 15% off at checkout.

Endless offers an extra 20% off select women’s shoes.  The discount is applied at checkout for all eligible items.

American Eagle takes another 30% off and applies free shipping when you apply coupon code 82934281 at checkout.  Use the code on their regularly-priced footwear or save even more on clearance shoes.

Macy’s reduces the prices on clearance shoes by 25% (prices reflect discount) and you also get another 10% off at checkout.  Items eligible for the extra discount are marked.

Bloomingdales is having a Big Brown Bag Sale that takes 25-40% off select styles and coupon code BIGSALE takes another 20% off these sale items.

Reebok takes another 40% off sale items when you apply coupon code SALE40 at checkout.

Payless has you paying less with 20% off coupon 47010 at checkout.

Famous Footwear offers coupon code FAMOUS20 for an extra 20% off your order.

Shoes.com has coupon code SECRET20 that gives an extra 20% off regular or sale items through 5/31/11.

Bakers Shoes offers free shipping with no minimum on any order.

Lord & Taylor takes another 20% off sale and clearance items when coupon HOLIDAY is applied at checkout.

Shoemall reduces regularly-priced items by 20% when MEMORIAL is entered at checkout.

Nine West takes up to 60% off select shoes during their latest sale and shipping is free on $75 or more.

Shoe Steal takes another 20% off orders when coupon code STEAL20 is applied at checkout through 5/31/11.

Unless otherwise noted, these offers expire on 5/30/11 and are subject to change.  Exclusions may apply.

Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!!

Teresa Giudice shoes on Watch What Happens Live: Black heels with sparkling platform

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

Teresa and Jacqueline from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on 5/23/11 to dish on the latest gossip from the new season with Andy Cohen.  Both ladies looked extra glam on the show, but it was Teresa’s black heels with sparkly platform that, in particular, generated a lot of interest amongst viewers.  I posted some info on my Facebook page yesterday after receiving some requests for info on these shoes, but I’m still seeing more people searching for them, so I thought I would add something here as well.  Teresa’s rhinestone pumps are custom made from a company called The Dazzle Diva and you can see them here:

The Dazzle Diva takes a pair of satin Steve Madden slingbacks and completely blings out the platform and heel in “thousands” of genuine Swarovski crystals.  They’re a bit pricey at $399, but that generally comes with the territory if you prefer Swarovski over regular rhinstones (the differences between the two are discussed on the site here).  They also come in champagne, another gorgeous choice.

If you can’t shell out $399 for these, a few less expensive options include the Menbur Narya in black, the Guess Hondola 2 in black with silver glitter platform, the Lauren Jones Zandra in black and the Beverly Feldman Glitz N Glam in black, each from Endless with free shipping.

Haley Reinhart sparkly shoes on American Idol Top 3

Friday, May 20th, 2011

I received an email request to help identify the sparkling silver peep toe platform heels Haley wore on the American Idol Top 3 show on 5/18/11.  First, I must say, I was really sorry to see Haley get voted off this week because that girl has some killer pipes and great style to boot.  I’m sure she has a bright music career ahead of her though – shiny and bright like the shoes she wore in one of her looks from the Top 3 show (pictured above).  Haley donned a pair of sparkle pumps for her performance of the Fleetwood Mac song “Rhiannon” and, while these shoes do appear to have a dark silver uppper, possibly in glitter, I’m thinking that this black sequin pair is likely the one she wore:

This is the Guess Hondola 2, which is a style that has been released in several color options and has the same side cutouts, side buckle and black platform as Haley’s shoes.  And, as you can see in the stock photo, the sequins appear to reflect in silver and this effect is likely magnified under those bright American Idol lights, which might be why it appears to be more of a pewter color on the show.  Of course, it’s also possible that there is (or will be) a dark silver version of this pair, but I don’t see it available in this color right now.

You can find this shoe for $99 with free overnight shipping at Endless.  If you’d rather get your sparkle on in a different color, this pair also comes in blue sequins, gold glitter, silver sequins and a black glitter version with silver glitter platform, each for the same price (some options have free 2-day shipping rather than overnight).

Have a great weekend!

Update 5/23/11:  I also received some questions about Haley’s white platform shoes worn on the Top 3 results show.  After doing some digging, I found out that the shoes (pictured above) are custom designed by a shoe designer who goes by Ms. Misha on Twitter (@4MiShA).  I’m glad to be able to see these shoes up close and, wow, they are gorgeous!  If you want to find out more information, there is an email address listed on her Twitter page where you can contact her.

Hot shoes in cool shades of light & aqua blue

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Lately I’ve really been crushing on shoes in various shades of light blue.  I’ve always loved the lighter side of blue, but these shades haven’t been too terribly common when it comes to footwear.  That’s why I’ve been happy to see more and more styles available in gorgeous shades of soft blue that range from pale baby hues to bolder aqua pastels.  These are colors that generally have a cool, calming effect when you look at them, much like gazing at a clear sky or tropical ocean might do, and they tend to convey a fresh, clean look.  One fine speciman is the Jeffrey Campbell Garett, available at Envishoes for $144.95, which combines aqua suede and a Valentino-esque bow with dark blue and light green accents.  This is one of my favorites, but there are definitely more to consider, so let’s it check out:

Aldo Frankenberg sandals with a crisp pop of blue for $110 at Aldo.com.

Rachel Roy Zahira in light blue for $119 at rachelroy.com.

Pour La Victoire Irina in aqua for $179.99 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Sole Boutique Mamie for $70 at Karmaloop.

Jeffrey Campbell Shy Town for $148 at Lori’s Shoes.

Jeffrey Campbell Tick in light blue for $180 at Karmaloop.

I’m loving all of the above, but if you really want to make a statement with aqua blue, you mix it with fiery shades of pink and orange à la the Jeffrey Campbell Munroe.  With its unabashedly bright color palette and extra-bold styling (love the two-toned platform!), this shoe definitely has the makings of a quintessential fun summer shoe.  Find them at Lori’s Shoes for $140 or at Envishoes for $144.95.

Note: To get a discount on Karmaloop orders, use coupon code SAVE20 to get 20% off $100 and free shipping (first time users only) or try ROCKIT for 15% off $75 (expiration unknown).  For Aldo orders, use 349147751 to get 10% off (expiration unknown).

Yellow shoes Haley wore on American Idol results show + Lea Michele at Coachella

Friday, April 22nd, 2011

I thought Haley Reinhart did an amazing job this week on American Idol with her rendition of Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” and, although she did briefly end up in the bottom three on the 4/21/11 results show, she definitely looked cheerful and bright in her trendy colorblock look.  Haley wore an eclectic color combination consisting of a green skirt, an orange top and bright yellow heels (not to mention a gorgeous necklace).  I found these shoes, which look like a match for the style she wore:

I originally saw the Velvet Angels La Loco in “Sun” at Endless, where they are $294.95 with free 2-day shipping, but the tan/black version is priced lower at $162.22.  Then I found out that 6pm has the yellow pair on supersale for only $112.50 and shipping is also free!  Sweet!  The free shipping offer requires an order of $100 or more and ends 4/24/11.

Speaking of yellow shoes, we saw another notable pair in action on Glee’s Lea Michele.  She attended Coachella recently and E! Online reports that she may have been a bit of a mean girl at the event.  I don’t know what happened there, but I do know she had some cute shoes on.  Like Haley, she incorporated plenty of color with her playful orange and pink jumper paired with yellow wedge shoes.

I recognized her shoes as the Aldo Dyle (mentioned before here) and they are available for $100 at Aldo.  Coupon code 342725694 takes another 10% off for a limited time, making them $90.

Have a great weekend and a wonderful Easter!
