Given the ongoing popularity of the Sam Edelman Lorissa, it’s certainly a natural progression to see the style take on a different form. Going from peep toe pump to closed toe ankle bootie, the spike studded Sam Edelman Renzo will keep it fierce even when the weather cools down later this year. It’s part of the Sam Edelman Fall 2011 Collection, but available to purchase now in two color options. We have the “putty” taupe version pictured above, which Bloomingdales offers for $250. Then we have it in all black:

This one is also available at Bloomingdales, but if you’re going to pay full price to get a jump on this style, you might want to check it out at Endless instead. They currently offer the black pair only and it’s $250 as well, but also includes free overnight shipping.
I heart the Renzo, but given that I’m still basking in the glow of my newly acquired pink Lorissas, I probably won’t be splurging on a pair in the near future. But, even though the price is higher than the Lorissa, having the Renzo in boot form will probably negate that Lorissa heel slippage problem I’ve seen a few reports of. I may get the chance to test this out for myself when I wear my Lorissas out for the first time tonight (on a hot date with the hubby!). That is, if it would only stop raining *fingers crossed*. Update: I did wear them out - see a review in the update here.
Have a wonderful weekend!

It was reunion time again this week for The Real Housewives of Orange County, which always means getting dolled up and totally breaking out the claws. That’s exactly what the OC ladies did for the 2-part special, which included finger pointing, name calling, accusations, walking off the stage — basically everything we’ve come to expect from these get togethers. Even host Andy was particularly on his game, asking all of the hard-hitting questions and totally calling the Housewives out when they tried to pull a non-answer on him. He’s so tough. Love Andy.

The Housewives all donned high heels to dish out the theatrics, but it was Gretchen Rossi’s sparkly ankle cuff sandals that probably stood out the most. She wore them with a gorgeous pink Lipsy one shoulder dress and, I must say, this seems to be one of her favorite pairs of shoes because she also wore them for a Watch What Happens Live appearance, which I posted about after finding the shoes by request. The Report Signature Vanderbuilt (pictured above from Endless, also listed in a different spelling as the Report Signature Vanderbilt at Bluefly) appears to be silver, but it’s actually covered in ivory beads. Definitely a super-hot heel, but also completely sold out online. If you like the black version, I noticed a few pairs for sale on eBay. You can also check out my previous post on Gretchen’s reunion shoes for some similar alternatives.

We all love the look of heels, but flats are where it’s at when you need increased comfort and wearability for certain weekend activities. Of course, losing the heels doesn’t mean you can’t get a bit fancy. The Not Rated Razzle Dazzle flat (above) caught my eye for being completely covered in sequins and studs, which makes it a nice choice to add some shimmer and shine to a more casual look. Even better, the sale price is totally on point: A mere $21.97 (regularly $49.95) at Endless will add these to your shoe collection in your choice of silver, gold or black with 2-day shipping also being free. That’s what I call some cute cheap flats, no buyer’s remorse included.
Happy Friday!

If there’s one thing you can be assured of on Memorial Day weekend, it’s that there WILL be sales…and lots of them. If your holiday activities include a little shoe shopping, you’ll probably want to know which stores are offering the best discounts so you can get your savings on. That’s why I’ve rounded up a great big list of sales and coupons that’ll knock a nice chunk of change off your shoe purchase, making both your feet and your wallet happy. Here’s the rundown of what I’ve seen so far:

Pour La Victoire recently launched their own online store and I received word from a company rep that coupon code LAUNCH will take an additional $50 off any order (expiration unknown). While not specifically for Memorial Day, it’s still a sweet discount on must-haves like the Irina and their selection of bridal shoes. Shipping is also free.

Aldo takes an additional 30% off women’s sale sandals (discount reflected in product price), but you can also apply coupon code GLAMOUR to get another 15% off at checkout.

Endless offers an extra 20% off select women’s shoes. The discount is applied at checkout for all eligible items.

American Eagle takes another 30% off and applies free shipping when you apply coupon code 82934281 at checkout. Use the code on their regularly-priced footwear or save even more on clearance shoes.

Macy’s reduces the prices on clearance shoes by 25% (prices reflect discount) and you also get another 10% off at checkout. Items eligible for the extra discount are marked.

Bloomingdales is having a Big Brown Bag Sale that takes 25-40% off select styles and coupon code BIGSALE takes another 20% off these sale items.

Reebok takes another 40% off sale items when you apply coupon code SALE40 at checkout.

Payless has you paying less with 20% off coupon 47010 at checkout.

Famous Footwear offers coupon code FAMOUS20 for an extra 20% off your order.

Shoes.com has coupon code SECRET20 that gives an extra 20% off regular or sale items through 5/31/11.

Bakers Shoes offers free shipping with no minimum on any order.

Lord & Taylor takes another 20% off sale and clearance items when coupon HOLIDAY is applied at checkout.

Shoemall reduces regularly-priced items by 20% when MEMORIAL is entered at checkout.

Nine West takes up to 60% off select shoes during their latest sale and shipping is free on $75 or more.

Shoe Steal takes another 20% off orders when coupon code STEAL20 is applied at checkout through 5/31/11.
Unless otherwise noted, these offers expire on 5/30/11 and are subject to change. Exclusions may apply.
Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!!

Teresa and Jacqueline from Bravo’s The Real Housewives of New Jersey made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on 5/23/11 to dish on the latest gossip from the new season with Andy Cohen. Both ladies looked extra glam on the show, but it was Teresa’s black heels with sparkly platform that, in particular, generated a lot of interest amongst viewers. I posted some info on my Facebook page yesterday after receiving some requests for info on these shoes, but I’m still seeing more people searching for them, so I thought I would add something here as well. Teresa’s rhinestone pumps are custom made from a company called The Dazzle Diva and you can see them here:

The Dazzle Diva takes a pair of satin Steve Madden slingbacks and completely blings out the platform and heel in “thousands” of genuine Swarovski crystals. They’re a bit pricey at $399, but that generally comes with the territory if you prefer Swarovski over regular rhinstones (the differences between the two are discussed on the site here). They also come in champagne, another gorgeous choice.
If you can’t shell out $399 for these, a few less expensive options include the Menbur Narya in black, the Guess Hondola 2 in black with silver glitter platform, the Lauren Jones Zandra in black and the Beverly Feldman Glitz N Glam in black, each from Endless with free shipping.

I received an email request to help identify the sparkling silver peep toe platform heels Haley wore on the American Idol Top 3 show on 5/18/11. First, I must say, I was really sorry to see Haley get voted off this week because that girl has some killer pipes and great style to boot. I’m sure she has a bright music career ahead of her though – shiny and bright like the shoes she wore in one of her looks from the Top 3 show (pictured above). Haley donned a pair of sparkle pumps for her performance of the Fleetwood Mac song “Rhiannon” and, while these shoes do appear to have a dark silver uppper, possibly in glitter, I’m thinking that this black sequin pair is likely the one she wore:

This is the Guess Hondola 2, which is a style that has been released in several color options and has the same side cutouts, side buckle and black platform as Haley’s shoes. And, as you can see in the stock photo, the sequins appear to reflect in silver and this effect is likely magnified under those bright American Idol lights, which might be why it appears to be more of a pewter color on the show. Of course, it’s also possible that there is (or will be) a dark silver version of this pair, but I don’t see it available in this color right now.

You can find this shoe for $99 with free overnight shipping at Endless. If you’d rather get your sparkle on in a different color, this pair also comes in blue sequins, gold glitter, silver sequins and a black glitter version with silver glitter platform, each for the same price (some options have free 2-day shipping rather than overnight).
Have a great weekend!

Update 5/23/11: I also received some questions about Haley’s white platform shoes worn on the Top 3 results show. After doing some digging, I found out that the shoes (pictured above) are custom designed by a shoe designer who goes by Ms. Misha on Twitter (@4MiShA). I’m glad to be able to see these shoes up close and, wow, they are gorgeous! If you want to find out more information, there is an email address listed on her Twitter page where you can contact her.
