I had a request from my new Facebook friend, Laura, a bride-to-be who is looking for teal wedding shoes to match the absolutely beautiful dress (pictured above) that she picked for her big day. Specifically, she wants to find teal satin heels from 3-4″ in a peep toe d’orsay style with knotted detail or a bit of bling on the front. I’m happy to help out and I think teal is such a great color, but it can be tricky to find in shoes. Here are some styles that match all or most of the criteria Laura is looking for, making them viable options for walking down the aisle in gorgeous style:

First, we have the turquoise satin Paris Hilton Suarey. While it isn’t knotted in the front, it does have a pleated side bow that adds visual interest and you could always add something like these shoe clips (or perhaps these) for some added sparkle over the middle piece of the bow. These shoes are $95 at Shoes.com and you can apply coupon code SECRET20 for an extra 20% off through 7/5/11.

Then we have another style from the same brand, the Paris Hilton Spelled in turquoise satin. While it’s listed as the same color as the Suarey, this one strikes me as being more of a true teal shade, at least from this photo. It isn’t d’orsay or peep toe, but has the knotted front and some pretty bling along the top of the heel. Shoes.com has this style for $109 and you can get 20% off with the coupon code listed above. For additional size options, try Amazon.com or Heels.com.

While the Paris Hilton shoes are nice ready-made options, it might be best to try custom bridal shoes to really fine tune the details. My Glass Slipper offers a wide selection of designer shoes for brides, many of which can be dyed in your choice of the variety of colors they have available. Its sister site BridalShoes.com is similar, but offers less expensive wedding shoes under $100. The Pink Hot style pictured above, shown in teal, is priced at $89 with an extra $10 charge to dye it. They have many more shoes to choose from at various price points, but here are some I found that have all (or many) of the features Laura is looking for and can be ordered in white and then dyed teal for $10 extra:

Stuart Weitzman Knotted in white for $289. Note that some sizes won’t be available until September.

Benjamin Adams Salma for $199.

Paris Hilton Senorita for $120. You can dye the bow and toe area one color and the rest of the shoe a different color if desired, which is pretty cool.

Liz Rene Saskia for $92.

Pink Saffron for $80.

Pink Kiss for $80.
Note that once shoes are ordered and dyed, they are not returnable. However, they do offer Try-N-Dye, which is where you order the shoes to try them on and ensure they will work for you, then return them to get dyed (see site for details). You can also order a swatch of your desired color for $1.
Congrats to Laura and hopefully this will help out!

I’ve been out of commission for several days due to a power outage we experienced in my area after major tornadoes came through the south last week. Not having power for five days wasn’t exactly fun, but it was definitely a minor inconvenience compared to the devastation many others have dealt with, like the loss of homes and lives. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the storms and I’m very relieved and thankful that my loved ones are all safe. I’m also happy to be up and running here on this shoe blog today so we can talk shoes! And today we’re talking about American Idol shoes again! I received a request on Facebook to help find the white shoes with floral detail that Haley Reinhart wore on the American Idol results show this past week (the 4/28/11 episode). I didn’t see the show, for obvious reasons, but I did find the pictures above at americanidol.com and I did recognize the brand of these shoes immediately, mainly because of the heel:

Irregular Choice has made several different styles with this very cool translucent heel and I found what appears to be the exact pair Haley wore, Irregular Choice Can’t Touch This, at Irregular Choice, where they are available for $129. I can’t tell if Haley’s shoes have the same all over pattern - they look solid white from the pics - but the stylists at American Idol are known to customize items for use on the show, so that may be the case here. You can also find this style in beige, black or off white at Amazon for a sale price of $119 with free shipping (note: sale prices are subject to change) or at Akira for $129.90.

Also of note, it looks like Lauren Alaina wore the same Bebe shoes she wore to another results show. It’s the Bebe Leah cork wedge sandal and it has a removable flower accent, so it appears she decided to go sans bloom this time around. You can find these shoes in white, black or pink at Bebe for $129.

Spring officially sprung over the weekend and, to me, there’s no better way to usher in the season than with some freshly picked flower shoes. After all, when things start blooming, we naturally want to put a little spring in our step too, so we wear shoes that reflect the great outdoors. That’s why we tend to see a wide array of pretty floral print and flower embellished shoes around this time of year and, whether you want to apply a little bit of blossom detail or go all out with dramatic blooms, there’s definitely something for everyone. Here are the shoes that have me catching a serious case of spring fever:

I’ve had some questions on Facebook about the sparkly silver ankle cuff heels that Gretchen Rossi of The Real Housewives of Orange County wore while making an appearance with boyfriend Slade on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Sunday night (3/13/11). Gretchen wore these shoes with a form-fitting purple dress and they definitely add a nice dose of shine to her look, almost like they could be glitter. But, they are actually these “ivory” bead-covered shoes:

Gretchen wore the Report Signature Vanderbuilt and, despite the brand name of the shoes being mentioned on the show, they were tough to track down because, unfortunately, they are now sold out everywhere. You can see them listed at Endless or Bluefly, but there are also some sellers offering this pair on eBay as well. Otherwise, here are some styles with similar details that are worth checking out as alternatives:

Steve Madden Glitsi for $109.95 at Steve Madden. Coupon code rmn15f takes 15% off and gives free shipping, making them $93.46 (expiration unknown). If they have your size, get them for $69.99 with free shipping instead at Piperlime. Update: Now priced at $76.95.

Dolce Vita Misty for $104.47 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Dolce Vita Vanni for $146.90 with free 2-day shipping at Endless. Update: Out of stock at Endless, but Last Call by Neiman Marcus has them for $159.

Miss Me Diva-17 in silver for $26.09 with free shipping at Amazon. Update: Now $16.73 in silver, but only one size left.

Naughty Monkey Shinner for $84.95 at Shoemall. Get 20% off $20 with coupon code LUCKY20 until 3/17/11. You can also get this style at Zappos. Update: Now $67.99 at Shoemall, but also available at DSW for $49.95.

Chinese Laundry Miranda for $67.98 - $119.99 depending on size and color selection at Amazon.

*Update: This post is from 2011. See my latest multicolor shoes posts for more*
If there’s one thing I love about spring, it’s the emergence of color. Applying color to our look is more of a year-round style staple than a trend, but we do tend to see more bold hues being used in fashion when things heat up outside. When it comes to shoes, you can always add a pop of color in one shade at a time, which works very well, but you can also opt for a wide array of color all in one pair. Many designers are mixing it up in this way, as seen on Neiman Marcus and these are shoes that, by their very nature, are cheerful, bright and oh-so-fun. One pair I’m loving is the Jeffrey Campbell Tick Esp (pictured above), which has the normally thumbtacked Jeffrey Campbell Tick shedding its armour in favor of playful, colorful threading all over the heel. It was available at Envishoes (now sold out) and it’s also sold at Singer22 as the Jeffrey Campbell Tick Fab for $150, but it’s very close to being sold out there as well. I’m hoping to see these in stock somewhere soon but, no worries, there are plenty of more fabulous multicolored shoes where that came from (Update: You can now get these shoes at Karmaloop for $190. Get 15% off $75 or more with coupon code MADNE55 through 3/31/11). Here are some of my other faves:

The Haus of Price Multi Gem pump is on preorder at Solestruck in gold for $239.95 with free shipping. It’s also available in silver at Stanton James for $245 or get the similar Gameplayer (also known as Solid Goddess) version for the same price.

The Irregular Choice Chica Chola rainbow wedge for $149.99 with free 2-day shipping at Heels.com.

The Dollhouse Neo in multi on preorder for $49.99 at Journey’s (ships in April).

The Nine West Jump Girl for $99 at Macy’s. Get 25% off 2 or more pairs of shoes with coupon code ADDICTED until 3/13/11. Shipping is also free on orders $99 or more. Update: There is also coupon code WEEKEND that’ll take 10% off this pair, making it $89.10 (exp 3/13/11).

The Jeffrey Campbell Foxy in multi stripe for $125 at Karmaloop. Get free shipping on $50 with coupon code 50SHIP for a limited time.

The Michael Antonio Gunner for $65 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

The Diba Chi Keeta for $69 with free shipping at Amazon.

The Coconuts Pauly wedge for $44.95 at DSW.

The Annie Magic Dress Sandal in bright multi for $47.50 with free overnight shipping at Endless. The clear illusion detail on the front of these definitely makes for an interesting look.

Update: I had to add this pair, the Jessica Simpson Vadio in deep purple. It’s been sold out everywhere in this colorblock version, but is currently available at Envishoes for $98.95 (sold out).

Update 2: OMG - check this one out! The Senso Diffusion Sahara for $198 at Karmaloop. Get 15% off $75 or more with coupon code MADNE55 through 3/31/11.

It seems a lot of people are on the hunt for the perfect pair of purple shoes, like in another recent Find My Shoes post, and I’m all too happy to help out in the search because I definitely find myself drawn to this pretty shade too. This time, we have Sara, who mentioned on Facebook that she is looking for a dark purple satin pair with clear crystal detail. I checked into it and found some shoes that just might fit the bill based on her description (or at least come close). Here are the options I came across:

The Nina Nabal in purple for $44.98 plus shipping at 6pm or $65 with free shipping at Zappos (MSRP $89.95).

The Menbur Narya in purple for $106.31 (list $124) with free 2-day shipping from Endless. I’m loving the sparkle down the heel.

The Menbur Chloe for $138.81 (list $184) with free 2-day shipping from Endless. We don’t have all clear stones on this one, but it’s still a viable option. Also, check out more in purple from Menbur here (I’m loving the Arda).

The Paco Mena Pelori for $95 with free 2-day shipping at Endless, plus more purple heels from the same brand.

The Miss Me Jocelyn-27 in purple for $46.33 (most sizes) with free shipping at Amazon.
Hopefully this will help, but it’s also worth noting that Facebook friend Crystal Couture out of the UK does custom crystal shoes, so that may be something to check into as well. They have the purple Crystal Snowdrops (scroll down to see it) as an option.

Update: Here’s another gorgeous purple pair, the Steve Madden Luvly. Find it at Steve Madden for $129.95.

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on the 17th of this month, so I thought I would round up some green shoe options in honor of the day. This is serious business, after all, because you definitely want some of that Irish luck on your side and you most definitely want to avoid getting pinched. When it comes to checking out a bunch of cute green shoes, it’s a tough job, but someone must do it, right? Right. Ok, all jokes aside, here are some shoes that are in the perfect shade for some St. Patty’s Day revelry, but also for well beyond - applying a fresh, crisp pop of this color to your look is always nice for spring. That being said, let’s get into the groove of green:

Frye Kara Trapunto for $228 with free shipping from Zappos.

Mojo Moxy Sassy for $79.95 at DSW. Members get free shipping on $35 with coupon code SHIPR through 3/21/11.

Michael Antonio Gillespie for $64.99 with free 2-day shipping at Heels.com.

Irregular Choice Power Struggle for $106.98 with free 2-day shipping at Endless (limited sizes left).

Miz Mooz Silva for $99.95 with free overnight shipping at Endless.

Miss Me Rachel-2 for $46.39 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Two Lips Too Fling for $49.95 at DSW. See the code listed above for free shipping.

Aldo Carknard for $34.98 at Amazon, plus free shipping for a limited time.

Corso Como Fabulous for $49 at 6pm.
Here’s to the luck o’ the cute green shoes!
