Purple wedding shoes in plum & more shades

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

Since wedding season is upon us, we have plenty of brides looking for the ideal shoes to go along with their dress; thus, we have another bridal-themed Find My Shoes post today!  I received two requests recently from brides-to-be that are both looking for purple shoes for their big day.  First, we have Shannon, who is wearing the beautiful Alfred Angelo Belle dress (pictured above, left) and wants to find shoes in the shade of David’s Bridal plum.  She loves the look of the $230 High Society Heel at My Glass Slipper (pictured above, right), but needs something more affordable.  We also have Jessica, who wants to find an elegant, not-too-expensive style in bright purple.  So, I’ve been on the hunt for a plethora of pretty purple pumps that just might work for these ladies, or at least hopefully so.  Here’s what I found:

After looking at available options, I believe the best way to get the look of the High Society heel on a budget is to go with a shoe clip.  The nice thing about going this route is having more flexibility to choose the exact shoe style you want – for instance, Bridalshoes.com has lots of dyeable wedding shoes under $100 in various heel heights and 4 shades of purple to choose from.  A simple, but dressy heel, like the dyeable satin Touch Ups Flash-647 (pictured above, left) could work well and it’s affordably priced at $54 with a $14 dye fee.  You can then pick out a shoe clip and I tend to like the wide selection of options at Etsy.  The floral shoe clip pictured above is $24 in gold or silver and I think it would look really nice contrasted with purple.  When you combine the cost of the shoe and the shoe clip, it totals $92, which is less than half the cost of the High Society style.

Here are some ready-made options I found (Note: I tried to get as close as possible to the requested plum shade, but I am basing this solely on the picture, which may not always be exact):

Allure Bridals Starlight for $79.95 with free shipping at Shoebuy.  Coupon code SPRING15 takes 15% off (expiration unknown).

RSVP Cailyn for $99 with free shipping at Zappos.

Nina Elke for $99 with free shipping from Zappos.

Coloriffics Rave for $99.95 with free shipping at Endless.  Spend $100 or more on eligible styles, including this one, and get 20% off with coupon code FORMAL12 (exp 5/7/12).  The base color of these shoes appears lighter, but the stones are a darker purple.

Poetic Licence Spectacle in purple for $62 with free shipping from Must Have Shoes or $79 with free shipping from Planet Shoes.

Touch Ups by Benjamin Adams Bev for $61.99 with free shipping from Shoes.com.  Coupon code SECRET20 takes 20% off (exp unknown).

Bourne Susie in Aubergine for $136.85 with free shipping from Endless.

Poetic Licence Force of Nature, an option that’s a bit different than the rest, but still has plenty of purple, for $89.40 at Dillards or $109 at Must Have Shoes, both with free shipping.

Now for some bright purple options.  I included more variety as far as the actual shade goes with these shoes since bright purple can mean different things to different people.  Of course, it’s the bride’s call to determine what exact shade will work for her, so here are some possibilities to consider:

Charles by Charles David Glacee in purple for $125.34 with free shipping from Endless.

Dyeables Lacey in purple for $69.99 with free shipping at Shoes.com.  Coupon code SECRET20 takes 20% off (exp unknown).

Coloriffics Miley in purple for $69.95 with free shipping from Endless.  Spend $100 or more on eligible styles, including this one, and get 20% off with coupon code FORMAL12 (exp 5/7/12).

Ivanka Trump Alluvia for $82.11 with free shipping at Endless.

H by Halston Abigail for $59.99 at Bakers (for the platform lovers!).

Steve Madden Hadley-R for $119.95 at Steve Madden and coupon code SMSPRING15 takes 15% off $75 and gives free shipping for a limited time.

Lulu Townsend Blossom wedge for $54.95 at DSW.  Members get free shipping on $35 with coupon code SHIPR through 6/20/12.

Nine West Devika for $49.99 with free shipping at 6pm.

Pour La Victoire Evelia for $74.50 with free shipping at Endless.

J.Renee Rosina in multi for $79.95 with free shipping at Endless.  This option clearly isn’t solid purple, but if you look close at the glitter, there is plenty of purple mixed in, so it could be really pretty.

Congratulations to both brides!

Ivory wedding sandals with sparkly rhinestones

Wednesday, April 18th, 2012

I received another inquiry from a bride-to-be that needs some assistance finding her perfect wedding shoes and, in today’s Find My Shoes feature, I hope to help her out.  For this particular request, the bride will be wearing an ivory version of the gorgeous Alfred Angelo dress you see pictured above and wants to find ivory wedding shoes to complement it for her upcoming garden wedding.  She is looking for something with plenty of sparkle and something that is designed with some kind of strap over the foot because pumps and slingbacks tend to slide off her feet.  She also wants a heel of up to 3.5″ and wants to stay within a budget of around $100, give or take a bit depending on the shoe.  So, with that in mind, I set out to find some options that meet her desired criteria, or at least very close.  Let’s take a look:

Brianna Leigh Alyssa in ivory silk satin for $139.95 with free shipping at Shoebuy.  Coupon code SPRING15 takes 15% off, which makes them $118.96 (exp 4/30/12).

A.Marinelli Excess in ivory for $72.80 with free shipping at Endless.

Kenneth Cole Reaction Know Blinkie in cream for $89.95 at Shoemall.  Coupon code SHOESRFUN takes 20% off, making them $71.96 (exp. 4/18/12).  They are also available at Dillards for $89.99.  Note: Dillards has it listed as a 4″ heel, while Shoemall has it at 3.5″.

Nina Vianey in ivory for $49.99 with free shipping at 6pm. Also available at Shoebuy for $71.95 with free shipping and 15% off via the coupon listed above.

Coloriffics Camryn in ivory for $106.45 at Shoebuy.  Use the coupon code listed above for 15% off.

Pour La Victoire Estee in ivory with blue sole adorned with ”I do” crystals for $68 with free shipping at Amazon.

Antonio Melani Tabitha in ivory for $89.99 at Dillards.

Nina Chara in ivory for $99 with free shipping at Endless.

Antonio Melani Reiss for $110 at Dillards (note: heel is 4″).

Chinese Laundry Abbie in ivory for $69 at Macys.

Annie Adrien in ivory for $59.95 with free shipping at Endless.

Update: Another one I came across, the Paco Mena Gloria in ivory for $124 with free shipping at Endless.  Get 20% off $100 with coupon code MOTHER20 through 5/13/12.

Update 2: The heel is higher than requested at 4.25″, but it’s hard to deny the gorgeous Ivanka Trump Abilene in ivory.  It’s available at Bloomingdales for $150.

Congrats to the bride on her upcoming special day!

Spring shoes that POP in neon

Friday, April 6th, 2012

With all of the bold color we’re seeing this season (which I was just discussing in my multicolor shoes post), it makes perfect sense that neon has once again emerged as a trend for spring and summer.  If you’re a lover of these ultra-bright hues, it’s not that you have to wait for them to be deemed trendy to wear them, but it does mean there are a lot more options to pick from.  And since neon packs a serious punch, a little goes a long way for making a bold statement; thus, wearing a pop of neon with your shoes is a particularly ideal way to apply the trend with ease.  I personally like the look of shoes in neutral shades, like taupe, combined with just enough neon to amp things up, like what you see with the Enzo Angiolini Timga pictured above.  It’s available for $120 at Endless and there’s also a neon pink version with a dark natural upper.  Here are some more of my current faves in fluorescent shades:

Vince Camuto Deric with bright yellow heel for $115 with free shipping at Amazon. Also available at Dillards.

Jessica Simpson Shavon colorblock heels with neon pink for $97.95 with free shipping at OnlineShoes.  Get $20 off $90, which drops the price on these to $77.95, using coupon code 20BLOOM through 4/30/12.

Ann Taylor Cheri in Caliente Coral for $178 at Ann Taylor.  Get 30% off with coupon code SPRING30 (expiration unknown).

Steve Madden Aaria in neon yellow on preorder for $149.95 at Steve Madden.  Coupon code MUSTHAVE25 takes 25% off $150 and gives free shipping through 4/10/12.  A pink version is also available.

Qupid Neutral neon green heels for $26.99 at Tilly’s.

Charlotte Russe neon wedge in pink or yellow on sale for $25 at Charlotte Russe.

Pour La Victoire Taryn in neon yellow for $189.99 with free shipping at Piperlime or $265 with free shipping at Endless.  It also comes in neon pink.

Fergie Protest in green for $69.95 with free shipping at Zappos.  It also comes in pink, yellow, and more color options.

Charlotte Russe neon orange heels for $30 at Charlotte Russe.  These shoes are eligible for their Buy 1, get 2nd for $12.50 promotion, as are these cute neon flats they offer.

Sole Boutique Posh Dynamo neon flats with spikes for $33 at Karmaloop.  They also come in neon yellow for $46. Update: Also available at Urban Originals for $33.50.

Have a fun weekend and a wonderful Easter!

Shoe Sale Spotlight: Extra 40% off shoes at Last Call

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

We have a super-sweet sale to talk about today and it’s going down at Last Call by Neiman Marcus.  Until tomorrow only, you can get an extra 40% off any one regularly-priced item, which includes their large selection of designer shoes.  But, don’t forget, this is Neiman Marcus’ outlet site, so these items are already discounted off their original retail price even before you get the extra savings.  And, even though you’ll see many styles marked as ”Plus 30% off” while browsing, I noticed that the larger 40% discount is applied to the highest-priced item once you add the shoes to your cart and any additional items in your order are 30% off as part of their concurrent Fun in the Sun sale.  That makes brands like Dolce Vita, L.A.M.B., Charles Jourdan, Pour La Victoire, Rock and Republic, Beverly Feldman (and many more) much more affordable than they normally are.  For instance, the L.A.M.B. Kai Mesh Pump pictured above retails for $295 and is marked down to $225, but falls even further to $135 after getting 40% off in-cart, which is a discount of over 50%.  Let’s check out a few more examples, each with the extra 40% one item discount applied to the price listed:

L.A.M.B. Keagon woven pump in light grey for $147 (retail $325). Also available in black or white.

Dolce Vita Vanni for $95.40 (retail $220).

Dolce Vita North in gold, silver or black for $75 (retail $200).

Seychelles Rogers for $53.40 (retail $100).  Also available in black/white gingham and another floral combo.

Pour La Victoire Vanna in luggage or black for $119.40 (retail $296).

Beverly Feldman Hurray polka dot flat for $69 (retail $170).

To sweeten the deal even more, apply coupon code LCJUNEFS at checkout to get free shipping with no minimum (exp. 6/15/11).

The 40% off one item sale expires 6/9/11 and 30% discount applies until 6/13/11.

Memorial Day shoes sales & coupons 2011

Friday, May 27th, 2011

If there’s one thing you can be assured of on Memorial Day weekend, it’s that there WILL be sales…and lots of them.  If your holiday activities include a little shoe shopping, you’ll probably want to know which stores are offering the best discounts so you can get your savings on.  That’s why I’ve rounded up a great big list of sales and coupons that’ll knock a nice chunk of change off your shoe purchase, making both your feet and your wallet happy.  Here’s the rundown of what I’ve seen so far:

Pour La Victoire recently launched their own online store and I received word from a company rep that coupon code LAUNCH will take an additional $50 off any order (expiration unknown).  While not specifically for Memorial Day, it’s still a sweet discount on must-haves like the Irina and their selection of bridal shoes.  Shipping is also free.

Aldo takes an additional 30% off women’s sale sandals (discount reflected in product price), but you can also apply coupon code GLAMOUR to get another 15% off at checkout.

Endless offers an extra 20% off select women’s shoes.  The discount is applied at checkout for all eligible items.

American Eagle takes another 30% off and applies free shipping when you apply coupon code 82934281 at checkout.  Use the code on their regularly-priced footwear or save even more on clearance shoes.

Macy’s reduces the prices on clearance shoes by 25% (prices reflect discount) and you also get another 10% off at checkout.  Items eligible for the extra discount are marked.

Bloomingdales is having a Big Brown Bag Sale that takes 25-40% off select styles and coupon code BIGSALE takes another 20% off these sale items.

Reebok takes another 40% off sale items when you apply coupon code SALE40 at checkout.

Payless has you paying less with 20% off coupon 47010 at checkout.

Famous Footwear offers coupon code FAMOUS20 for an extra 20% off your order.

Shoes.com has coupon code SECRET20 that gives an extra 20% off regular or sale items through 5/31/11.

Bakers Shoes offers free shipping with no minimum on any order.

Lord & Taylor takes another 20% off sale and clearance items when coupon HOLIDAY is applied at checkout.

Shoemall reduces regularly-priced items by 20% when MEMORIAL is entered at checkout.

Nine West takes up to 60% off select shoes during their latest sale and shipping is free on $75 or more.

Shoe Steal takes another 20% off orders when coupon code STEAL20 is applied at checkout through 5/31/11.

Unless otherwise noted, these offers expire on 5/30/11 and are subject to change.  Exclusions may apply.

Have a fabulous Memorial Day weekend!!

Hot shoes in cool shades of light & aqua blue

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

Lately I’ve really been crushing on shoes in various shades of light blue.  I’ve always loved the lighter side of blue, but these shades haven’t been too terribly common when it comes to footwear.  That’s why I’ve been happy to see more and more styles available in gorgeous shades of soft blue that range from pale baby hues to bolder aqua pastels.  These are colors that generally have a cool, calming effect when you look at them, much like gazing at a clear sky or tropical ocean might do, and they tend to convey a fresh, clean look.  One fine speciman is the Jeffrey Campbell Garett, available at Envishoes for $144.95, which combines aqua suede and a Valentino-esque bow with dark blue and light green accents.  This is one of my favorites, but there are definitely more to consider, so let’s it check out:

Aldo Frankenberg sandals with a crisp pop of blue for $110 at Aldo.com.

Rachel Roy Zahira in light blue for $119 at rachelroy.com.

Pour La Victoire Irina in aqua for $179.99 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Sole Boutique Mamie for $70 at Karmaloop.

Jeffrey Campbell Shy Town for $148 at Lori’s Shoes.

Jeffrey Campbell Tick in light blue for $180 at Karmaloop.

I’m loving all of the above, but if you really want to make a statement with aqua blue, you mix it with fiery shades of pink and orange à la the Jeffrey Campbell Munroe.  With its unabashedly bright color palette and extra-bold styling (love the two-toned platform!), this shoe definitely has the makings of a quintessential fun summer shoe.  Find them at Lori’s Shoes for $140 or at Envishoes for $144.95.

Note: To get a discount on Karmaloop orders, use coupon code SAVE20 to get 20% off $100 and free shipping (first time users only) or try ROCKIT for 15% off $75 (expiration unknown).  For Aldo orders, use 349147751 to get 10% off (expiration unknown).

Beautiful Blue Bridal Shoes: Pour La Victoire Cristella, Blissa & Giada

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

I have a lot of people who come to this site looking for blue wedding shoes, plus we had the big royal wedding over the weekend, so I thought today would be a good day to turn the spotlight on some royally blue heels that are perfect for fulfilling the ‘something blue’ tradition for brides.  The shoes that have caught my attention lately are from the Pour La Victoire Bridal and Evening collection and, oh my, some of their new styles are absolutely gorgeous.  One of my favorites is the Pour La Victoire Cristella (above), a stunning blue satin heel with bow detail available at Zappos for $159 with free shipping.  If you aren’t looking for blue, you can also get this pair in nude, red or black.  Let’s check out the nude version:

Love this one, but let’s check out another option in blue:

This is the Pour La Victoire Blissa and it’s also available in black or nude, each for $179 with free shipping at Zappos.

I may have saved the best for last, though, the Pour La Victoire Giada in ivory with ruffle detail and large rhinestone embellishments.  This one doesn’t have the blue upper, obviously, but check out the underside:

The sole is entirely in Tiffany-esque blue and has a “Do” written in crystals across the center (I’m assuming the other shoe says “I”).  Too perfect, and you can get it for $159 with free shipping at Zappos.  This style also comes in black or red, but these versions do not have the blue “I Do” sole.

For more options, check out all of the Pour La Victoire bridal shoes at Zappos.

Update: Order from Pourlavictoire.com and you can get $50 off your total via coupon code LAUNCH (expiration unknown).  Here’s a link to their selection of wedding shoes.
