Studded boots Snooki wore on Jersey Shore in Italy with Jianni

Tuesday, October 4th, 2011

I had a request on Facebook to help find the studded shoes seen on Snooki on a recent episode of Jersey Shore Season 4 in Italy.  Nicole wore these boots when her boyfriend Jianni came for a visit (a very short one, I might add) and I also found out that she rocked them at a Matt Frisbie photo shoot back in March (pictured above).  These are definitely some hot boots but, let me tell you, it was quite difficult to track down the exact style.  It’s never easy when a shoe is featured on a show that films months before it actually airs.  Not to mention, if a shoe is out of stock at most major retailers, it’s even harder to find, unless you just happen to recognize them.  I looked and looked (and looked) and wasn’t having too much luck, but something told me to keep on trying.  After putting my magic fairy shoe wand into major overdrive, I finally found them!  Ahh…the thrill of the hunt:

This is the ZigiNY Jagger bootie in black denim and I found it at both Shoe Salon and Dotz Angels.  These are both local-based shoe stores that also sell online and they appear to have stock of the Jagger for $199.99 and $125, respectively.  I don’t have personal experience with either store, but I wanted to pass on the information to those who are interested.  I also came across a very similar alternative at Amazon:

This is the Michael Antonio Studio Metro boot and it’s available in blue, grey, black or red for $63.60.

Hope this helps Amanda!

New fall shoes on sale at Endless + more shoes on discount

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Endless is one of my go-to online shoe stores for their wide selection and extra-quick shipping options, but I especially love when they have a good sale on top of all of that.  Right now, they are offering a discount of $25 off $80 on select women’s shoes and more items (update: expired), which is pretty good, but it’s even more notable considering that many eligible styles are new arrivals for fall.  That’s a nice way to get an early discount on something fresh and new for the upcoming season, but there’s also some summer styles eligible as well.  With nearly 2,000 shoe options, there’s definitely plenty to choose from, but one that caught my eye is the pretty Poetic Licence Sweet Dreams (pictured above), which has a very delicate and romantic look with it’s sheer dotted lace detail that runs all the way up to the ankle.  It comes in black, champagne, or dark pink for $129 with free overnight shipping, but falls to $104 after the discount, which is applied automatically during the final stage of checkout.  Here are a couple of more options I found:

The Not Rated Short Stack is another pair from the Not Rated brand with a studded wedge heel very similar to the Jeffrey Campbell Tick.  It comes in white (pictured), black, grey, tan, or yellow for $84.95 with free overnight shipping.  After the discount, you can get them for $59.95.

This pair stood out because of it’s cool black and white giraffe pattern and it’s sweet little price tag for a statement-making fall boot.  Get a little wild in the Michael Antonio Melati, which is $95 before the discount and $70 after.  Free overnight shipping is included and it also comes in an all black version.

I then spotted a nice price on the Sam Edelman Lorissa in Truffle.  It’s marked down to $114.71 and falls to under $100 after the discount – $89.71 with free 2-day shipping to be exact.  There are more options available at various price points depending on the color selected.

For many more, check out all of the shoes on sale.  The $25 discount is available for a limited time (expiration unknown, but the discount will show on the product page if available) and all prices are subject to change.

Update: The $25 off $80 promo listed in this post is now expired.

Monday, July 18th, 2011

Cheap Chick is in da house today, which is great news for shoe lovers on a tight budget….or anyone who gets a thrill out of a seriously good bargain.  If you don’t know, this little birdie loves to hunt for shoes that are on major discount and she makes it her mission to scour the web looking for hidden gems in the sale and clearance sections.  To up the ante, she only finds shoes that are marked down to super-low prices — i.e. $25 or less — but are still way high on style.  Let’s take a look at what Cheap Chick found today:

Aldo Munday in taupe or black for $24.99 (retail $100) at Aldo.com.  This price is already in cheap territory, but coupon code 401845805 takes another 10% off through 7/31/11.

Deena & Ozzy Asymmetrical Wedge for $19.99 (retail $59) at Urban Outfitters.

Michael Antonio Tau in tan or black for $20 (retail $60) with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Sole Boutique Hugo XIII for $24.95 (retail $38) at Karmaloop.  Also available in blue, fuschia, or white for the same price or less.

BDG Tall Suede Boot for $19.99 (retail $98) at Urban Outfitters.

Not Rated Riveting for $21.83 (retail $55) in navy or taupe or $23.54 in black at 6pm.

Multicolor shoes for going super-bright this spring

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

*Update: This post is from 2011.  See my latest multicolor shoes posts for more*

If there’s one thing I love about spring, it’s the emergence of color.  Applying color to our look is more of a year-round style staple than a trend, but we do tend to see more bold hues being used in fashion when things heat up outside.  When it comes to shoes, you can always add a pop of color in one shade at a time, which works very well, but you can also opt for a wide array of color all in one pair.  Many designers are mixing it up in this way, as seen on Neiman Marcus and these are shoes that, by their very nature, are cheerful, bright and oh-so-fun.  One pair I’m loving is the Jeffrey Campbell Tick Esp (pictured above), which has the normally thumbtacked Jeffrey Campbell Tick shedding its armour in favor of playful, colorful threading all over the heel.  It was available at Envishoes (now sold out) and it’s also sold at Singer22 as the Jeffrey Campbell Tick Fab for $150, but it’s very close to being sold out there as well.  I’m hoping to see these in stock somewhere soon but, no worries, there are plenty of more fabulous multicolored shoes where that came from (Update: You can now get these shoes at Karmaloop for $190.  Get 15% off $75 or more with coupon code MADNE55 through 3/31/11).  Here are some of my other faves:

The Haus of Price Multi Gem pump is on preorder at Solestruck in gold for $239.95 with free shipping.  It’s also available in silver at Stanton James for $245 or get the similar Gameplayer (also known as Solid Goddess) version for the same price.

The Irregular Choice Chica Chola rainbow wedge for $149.99 with free 2-day shipping at Heels.com.

The Dollhouse Neo in multi on preorder for $49.99 at Journey’s (ships in April).

The Nine West Jump Girl for $99 at Macy’s.  Get 25% off 2 or more pairs of shoes with coupon code ADDICTED until 3/13/11.  Shipping is also free on orders $99 or more.  Update:  There is also coupon code WEEKEND that’ll take 10% off this pair, making it $89.10 (exp 3/13/11).

The Jeffrey Campbell Foxy in multi stripe for $125 at Karmaloop.  Get free shipping on $50 with coupon code 50SHIP for a limited time.

The Michael Antonio Gunner for $65 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

The Diba Chi Keeta for $69 with free shipping at Amazon.

The Coconuts Pauly wedge for $44.95 at DSW.

The Annie Magic Dress Sandal in bright multi for $47.50 with free overnight shipping at Endless.  The clear illusion detail on the front of these definitely makes for an interesting look.

Update: I had to add this pair, the Jessica Simpson Vadio in deep purple.  It’s been sold out everywhere in this colorblock version, but is currently available at Envishoes for $98.95 (sold out).

Update 2: OMG – check this one out!  The Senso Diffusion Sahara for $198 at Karmaloop.  Get 15% off $75 or more with coupon code MADNE55 through 3/31/11.

Lucky green shoes for St. Patrick’s Day

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up on the 17th of this month, so I thought I would round up some green shoe options in honor of the day.  This is serious business, after all, because you definitely want some of that Irish luck on your side and you most definitely want to avoid getting pinched.  When it comes to checking out a bunch of cute green shoes, it’s a tough job, but someone must do it, right?  Right.  Ok, all jokes aside, here are some shoes that are in the perfect shade for some St. Patty’s Day revelry, but also for well beyond – applying a fresh, crisp pop of this color to your look is always nice for spring.  That being said, let’s get into the groove of green:

Frye Kara Trapunto for $228 with free shipping from Zappos.

Mojo Moxy Sassy for $79.95 at DSW.  Members get free shipping on $35 with coupon code SHIPR through 3/21/11.

Michael Antonio Gillespie for $64.99 with free 2-day shipping at Heels.com.

Irregular Choice Power Struggle for $106.98 with free 2-day shipping at Endless (limited sizes left).

Miz Mooz Silva for $99.95 with free overnight shipping at Endless.

Miss Me Rachel-2 for $46.39 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Corso Como Fabulous for $49 at 6pm.

Here’s to the luck o’ the cute green shoes!

More shoes seen at the 2010 MTV VMAs + similar looks for less

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

Everyone knows that the MTV Video Music Awards are just as much about the fashion as they are about the music – the two literally go hand in hand. After finding one of the shoes Chelsea Handler wore while hosting the show, I’ve continued to check out more shoe styles seen on celebs at the event. Of course, Lady Gaga had to outdo everyone in the most outrageous way possible by wearing a dress and shoes made of real meat:

This is definitely a statement-making choice (to say the least), but one that I doubt anyone will want to emulate for themselves.  If you do want to get the look, see this MTV Style article for details on how they were created and consult with your local butcher (and, please, send pictures!).  In addition to wearing beef, Gaga wore the iconic Alexander McQueen armadillo shoes (pictured, top), the same style featured in her Bad Romance video, which won Video of the Year.

There isn’t anything quite like the McQueen heels, but these Senso Neve shoes in snake are a real-life alternative to get that edgy, Gaga-esque style for less.  They are also a look-alike for the Acne Admire, as I found on Nitrolicious.  Get them on pre-order for $199.95 at Solestruck.

While I do enjoy watching Gaga and her wild fashion choices, there were other stars wearing much more wearable shoes that we could all potentially rock in real life – that is, if we have the cash flow for the pricey designer brands they opt for.  That’s why I’ve also found some similar, but less expensive alternatives for those who love the looks seen at the VMAs, but need something more affordable.  Let’s check it out:

Selena Gomez wore a gorgeous silver dress and kept the metallic theme going head-to-toe with her silver Brian Atwood Kendall shoes.  I can’t find these available for sale online, but here are a couple options for less:

Charles by Charles David Risque (left) for $47.25 at 6pm and the Chinese Laundry Fire It Up (right) for $49.99 at Dillards.

Hayley Williams of Paramore wore the Miu Miu Spectator Pump, available at Bergdorf Goodman for $650.  Save some money and get a similar look with these shoes:

Samanta Amay for $199.95 with free overnight shipping at Endless.

Audrina Patridge opted for the Balmain Metallic Rhinestone Pump, which is available at Barneys for $2,300.  Get something much less pricey with these shoes:

Michael Antonio Reza for $98.95 at Shoebuy.  Coupon code EMLFALLKICKOFF10 takes 20% off for a limited time, making them $79.16 with free shipping.  But, there are a few sizes at Amazon for only $47.98 with free shipping.

JWoww of Jersey Shore sported a more toned-down look than usual, which looks good on her, and I’m definitely loving the shoes.  I think these are Jimmy Choo, although I couldn’t locate the exact pair.  But, here’s a sparkly option for less:

Enzo Angiolini Merryann for $79.95 at Nordstrom.

Update: It looks like she could be wearing the Jimmy Choo Crown, which is $695 at Saks:

Or, possibly, the Enzo Angiolini Sully for $88.95 at Nordstrom:

Here’s another lookalike without a peep toe, the Enzo Angiolini Smiles, which is also sold at Nordstrom:

Twighlight’s Ashley Greene and singer Kei$ha both wore closed-toe black patent pumps to the VMA’s.  I’m not sure of the designer for either of these shoes, but here’s a similar pair for an affordable price:

Aldo Moos for $80 at Aldo.com.

Any more shoes from the VMAs you want to know about?  Let me know and I’ll do my best to find them!

Shoes from MTV The Hills finale: Kristin, Lauren, Audrina, Lo & more

Friday, July 16th, 2010

We bid farewell to the cast of MTV’s The Hills this week during their final episode and the after-show The Hills Live: A Hollywood Ending, which brought together the entire cast – even Lauren Conrad, but not Spencer and Heidi, who disappeared off the show earlier this season with no real explanation of where they went (besides Crazy Town, that is).  But, it was quite bittersweet for the show to be over and I, for one, actually liked the ending – the final scene where Brody and Kristin are saying their final goodbyes to each other after Kristin decides she’s moving to Europe.

The background – which appeared to be a real outdoor locale in front of the landmark Hollywood sign – was pulled away and revealed to be a backdrop in the lot of a studio.  Then the cameras pan out to show all the behind-the-scenes action of the show: the cameras, the crew and the breaking down of the last scene.  Apparently, some people didn’t like the ending, but I appreciated the unexpected nod to all the speculation on whether the show was real or fake and the acknowledgement that it wasn’t all reality.  I think most viewers knew it was scripted – at least to some degree – and, let’s face it, a little drama engineering does wonders for the entertainment factor.  Of course, another part of the show’s appeal was checking out the fashion.  So, for my last The Hills shoes post, I’ll be checking out what designer shoes the ladies wore to the aftershow and, in the spirit of this blog, find lookalikes that cost much less.

The cast looked gorgeous at the finale and I had to notice that it was actually the dresses that took center stage this time around – no statement shoes that stole the show for the most part – but they wore the kind of shoes every girl should have in their closet: sexy platform heels in go-with-everything neutrals that serve to complement, not compete with, the entire look.  Let’s start with Kristin Cavallari:

I absolutely love Kristin Cavallari’s dress from The Hills finale, which is by Zuhair Murad and she paired it with Christian Louboutin Turbella 120 silver pumps, which were available at Net-A-Porter, but are now sold out.  I don’t see them for sale online anywhere else, but get a similar look with these:

Nine West Every in dark or light silver for $29.95 (MSRP $78.95) at 6pm, plus 7 more color options (prices vary).

Aldo Debellis for $75 at Aldo.  Coupon code 175926112 takes 10% off and shipping adds $5 unless your order is over $75.  The expiration of the code is 7/31/10.

Lauren “LC” Conrad may have exited the show before the final season, but she was back to celebrate during the finale and rumor has it that her taupe suede pumps are Aldo, specifically the Aldo Fawson for $49.98 at Aldo.com.  These are already affordable but, not surprisingly, close to being sold out in this color.  For more neutral suede heel options, check these out:

Nine West Marray for $88.95 with free overnight shipping at Endless.  Spend at least $100 on qualifying back-to-school styles (this pair qualifies) and get an extra $20 off for a limited time.

Steve Madden Ultamit in taupe with berry colored sole on preorder at Steve Madden for $79.95 with free shipping using coupon code SMFREESHIP at checkout.

Whitney Port left The Hills for The City, but she definitely had a statement to make at the finale…with her shoes, that is.  Whitney nixed neutrals in favor of a bold and colorful cage style that had Jimmy Choo written all over it.  It’s the Jimmy Choo Quito multicolored snakeskin bootie and it appears to be sold out everywhere online.  These more affordable pairs convey a similar look:

Michael Antonio Jeana for $55.95 with free overnight shipping at Endless.

Aldo Storino on sale for $64.98 (regularly $90) at Aldo.  Get 10% off using coupon code 175926112 and shipping adds $5 unless your order is over $75.  The expiration of the code is 7/31/10.

Pour La Victoire Bethanie 1 in teal for $137.17 with free shipping at Amazon.

Audrina Patridge dared to bare plenty of skin at the finale in her tight purple cutout Boulee Ciara dress, which you can preorder at Singer22 in fuschia or black for $198 (she’s actually wearing it backwards), and her black peep toe pumps.  Her shoes are identified by Coolspotters as the Brian Atwood Wagner, but I can’t find the exact pair online.  However, we always have more black peep toe pumps on the market and here’s a couple that I like for less:

Steve Madden Flawwles for $98.95 with free shipping at Shoebuy.  Get 20% off with coupon code SUMMER at checkout (expiration unknown).  Update: There’s only a couple sizes left, but 6pm has this pair on sale for $39.98 (sale price expiration unknown).

Paris Hilton Sashay in black for $69.30 at 6pm.

Lo Bosworth looked fetching in her white dress and her Christian Louboutin Mille heels completed her sophisticated look.  Get the exact shoes at Barney’s for $895 or spend less on something similar, like these:

Boutique 9 Disco for $79.99 at Nine West or for $96 at 6pm.

Stephanie Pratt pairs platform slingback YSL Tribtoo heels, similar to this one from Saks that is now sold out, with her skintight Herve Leger dress.  Here’s a lookalike option from Bebe:

Bebe Neve in black, blue or pink for $149 at Bebe.

Another option is the Zigi Project Pumped heel in blue or black at Bakers for $79.95.

Holly Montag wore a pretty white feather dress and closed toe black patent heels.  I’m taking a guess on her shoes, which could be Christian Louboutin, Miu Miu, the Pour La Victoire Irina or none of the above (it’s hard to tell).  However, this pair is a nice option for less:

Aldo Moos for $54.98 – $75 depending on option selected.  Coupon code 175926112 takes 10% off and shipping adds $5 unless your order is over $75.  The expiration of the code is 7/31/10.

So, with that, we say goodbye to the cast of The Hills and all of the rumors, the drama, the black mascara tears, the boyfriend stealing, the name calling and cat fights, the voodoo crystals and plastic surgery, the lingering facial expressions, the ending and beginning of friendships – all of it – and, of course, the shoes.
