New fall shoes on sale at Endless + more shoes on discount

Wednesday, July 20th, 2011

Endless is one of my go-to online shoe stores for their wide selection and extra-quick shipping options, but I especially love when they have a good sale on top of all of that.  Right now, they are offering a discount of $25 off $80 on select women’s shoes and more items (update: expired), which is pretty good, but it’s even more notable considering that many eligible styles are new arrivals for fall.  That’s a nice way to get an early discount on something fresh and new for the upcoming season, but there’s also some summer styles eligible as well.  With nearly 2,000 shoe options, there’s definitely plenty to choose from, but one that caught my eye is the pretty Poetic Licence Sweet Dreams (pictured above), which has a very delicate and romantic look with it’s sheer dotted lace detail that runs all the way up to the ankle.  It comes in black, champagne, or dark pink for $129 with free overnight shipping, but falls to $104 after the discount, which is applied automatically during the final stage of checkout.  Here are a couple of more options I found:

The Not Rated Short Stack is another pair from the Not Rated brand with a studded wedge heel very similar to the Jeffrey Campbell Tick.  It comes in white (pictured), black, grey, tan, or yellow for $84.95 with free overnight shipping.  After the discount, you can get them for $59.95.

This pair stood out because of it’s cool black and white giraffe pattern and it’s sweet little price tag for a statement-making fall boot.  Get a little wild in the Michael Antonio Melati, which is $95 before the discount and $70 after.  Free overnight shipping is included and it also comes in an all black version.

I then spotted a nice price on the Sam Edelman Lorissa in Truffle.  It’s marked down to $114.71 and falls to under $100 after the discount - $89.71 with free 2-day shipping to be exact.  There are more options available at various price points depending on the color selected.

For many more, check out all of the shoes on sale.  The $25 discount is available for a limited time (expiration unknown, but the discount will show on the product page if available) and all prices are subject to change.

Update: The $25 off $80 promo listed in this post is now expired.

Fun Shoes for Friday: Nine West Grase

Friday, July 15th, 2011

Thank goodness it’s Friday!  And thank goodness for this gorgeous red heel, which might just have you feeling compelled to walk away from people more often.  But, no worries – it’s all in the name of showing off the stunning view from the back.  Here’s the front view:

The Nine West Grase takes a closed toe, red satin pump and totally ups the glam factor with the rhinestone and sequin detail.  I’m loving this red version most of all, but it also comes in black satin, black suede, light grey suede, or tan suede, each with clear rhinestones rather than the colored ones on the red pair.  Get them on pre-order at Nine West for $109 with an expected ship date of 7/26/11.  You’ll also see another $10 off $50 automatically at checkout, making them $99, and free shipping for a limited time.

Friday, May 27th, 2011

If there’s one thing you can be assured of on Memorial Day weekend, it’s that there WILL be sales…and lots of them.  If your holiday activities include a little shoe shopping, you’ll probably want to know which stores are offering the best discounts so you can get your savings on.  That’s why I’ve rounded up a great big list of sales and coupons that’ll knock a nice chunk of change off your shoe purchase, making both your feet and your wallet happy.  Here’s the rundown of what I’ve seen so far:

Pour La Victoire recently launched their own online store and I received word from a company rep that coupon code LAUNCH will take an additional $50 off any order (expiration unknown).  While not specifically for Memorial Day, it’s still a sweet discount on must-haves like the Irina and their selection of bridal shoes.  Shipping is also free.

Aldo takes an additional 30% off women’s sale sandals (discount reflected in product price), but you can also apply coupon code GLAMOUR to get another 15% off at checkout.

Endless offers an extra 20% off select women’s shoes.  The discount is applied at checkout for all eligible items.

American Eagle takes another 30% off and applies free shipping when you apply coupon code 82934281 at checkout.  Use the code on their regularly-priced footwear or save even more on clearance shoes.

Macy’s reduces the prices on clearance shoes by 25% (prices reflect discount) and you also get another 10% off at checkout.  Items eligible for the extra discount are marked.

Bloomingdales is having a Big Brown Bag Sale that takes 25-40% off select styles and coupon code BIGSALE takes another 20% off these sale items.

Reebok takes another 40% off sale items when you apply coupon code SALE40 at checkout.

Payless has you paying less with 20% off coupon 47010 at checkout.

Famous Footwear offers coupon code FAMOUS20 for an extra 20% off your order.

Shoes.com has coupon code SECRET20 that gives an extra 20% off regular or sale items through 5/31/11.

Bakers Shoes offers free shipping with no minimum on any order.

Lord & Taylor takes another 20% off sale and clearance items when coupon HOLIDAY is applied at checkout.

Shoemall reduces regularly-priced items by 20% when MEMORIAL is entered at checkout.

N.Y.L.A. Genevieve, a Christian Louboutin spike bow heels lookalike

Monday, May 23rd, 2011

I recently posted about a Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud knockoff in black from Frederick’s of Hollywood and I noted that the shoe looked just like a sold-out style Nordstrom had offered a few months prior, the N.Y.L.A. Genevieve.  Well, I found that the Genevieve is back in action at Nordstrom and it’s now available in a hot new crimson shade.  I’m all about this bright red version, which could also be compared to the Christian Louboutin Lady Clou, another spike studded shoe from CL that came in red.  More good news: If you totally coveted the nude Clou Noeud when it was out, you’ll definitely want to check out this version:

The N.Y.L.A. Genevieve is also back in stock in nude, as well as black, each for $104.95 at Nordstrom.  However, if you prefer the black pair, it’s worth noting that you’ll save more by getting the Frederick’s of Hollywood version for $94 and they’ll give you another $10 off automatically at checkout, making the price $84.  The offer expires 5/29/11.  Update: Frederick’s of Hollywood marked this style down to $79.99 and you get another $10 off at checkout through 6/19/11, making them $69.99.

Update 2: Another knockoff, the Privileged Sheena, is available at LuLu’s and it’s in pale pink!!  Also in black, each for $55.

Lauren Alaina in buckle shoes on American Idol Top 4 + Lady Gaga shoe controversy

Thursday, May 12th, 2011

Lady Gaga: Always blending in

It’s really getting down to the wire on American Idol now that only four contestants remain, at least until the results show tonight when it will be whittled down to just three.  It’s really hard to predict who will go home this week since they are all so good in their own ways, but I have to admit that I’m on Team Haley and Team Lauren right now (go ladies!).  The Idol hopefuls definitely have their game face on at this point in the competition, but we also have some shoes sharing the spotlight, like Lauren Alaina’s platform sandals that she wore while singing the Martina McBride song “Do It Anyway”.  I really enjoyed the performance and how she dedicated it to the people affected by the tornadoes that hit the South recently, but it was also great when Steven Tyler called her shoes out while judging her rendition of the song and said he loved her buckles.  Too funny, that guy.  Here’s a pic of Miss Lauren and said buckle shoes:

I had a hunch that these were Bebe, since we’ve seen Lauren in Bebe on the show a few times before, and that was confirmed via StyleList; however, I can’t locate the exact style.  It may be one that was previously available and sold out or one that is soon to be available (or maybe I’m just completely missing it!), but here are a couple of options I found for a similar overall look:

Mark + James Makayla for $225 with free overnight shipping at Endless.  Get 20% off $100 with coupon code MAYEVENT (exp. 5/12/11).

Bebe Austin for $110 at Macy’s.  Get an extra $10 off $50, $20 off $100, $30 off $150 or $50 off $200 in-cart, making these $90 if purchased without other items (exp. 5/12/11).

While Lauren’s towering platform sandals are dramatic enough for many people, this kind of shoe is mere child’s play for Lady Gaga, who mentored the contestants this week.  Gaga’s choice of footwear for the show has sparked some controversy across the net and it’s not because they are extraordinarily high (as you can see above) – it’s because the clear lucite heel of her shoes is in the shape of a certain part of the, ahem, male anatomy.  This is what she wore:

Leave it to Gaga to bring on the shock value with her provacative Void of Course shoes, which are said to cost around $4,500 (note that content/images at the link may be explicit).  Now, I’m not the type to get worked up by such things and you couldn’t see any detail on the shoes while watching the show (producers made sure of that).  But, even so, when you’re making an appearance on a family-centric show like American Idol, it probably isn’t the best time to bust out your best man parts shoes.  Just sayin’.

Knockoffs for Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud & Jeffrey Campbell Tick

Tuesday, April 5th, 2011

You never know just what kind of shoes you’ll run into when browsing stores that are primarily known for selling pretty little underthings (i.e. lingerie).  It’s something I knew before, but I rediscovered it recently while checking out the footwear offered at Frederick’s of Hollywood and Victoria’s Secret.  What caught my eye is some “inspired by” versions of popular styles from both Christian Louboutin and Jeffrey Campbell that I hadn’t seen anywhere else.  First up, we have the Christian Louboutin Clou Noeud spiked heel (above), which was definitely an ”it” shoe in the latter half of 2010 and seen worn by a slew of celebs.  These $1,195 shoes are sold out online and I haven’t seen a close lookalike, but I noticed the site In Their Closet found the N.Y.L.A. Genevieve at Nordstrom back in December that replicated the look.  Those are now sold out as well, but Frederick’s of Hollywood offers up another pair as an alternative:

This is the Peep-Toe Leather Artillery Pump in genuine black leather and it’s priced at $94.  You get $10 off $75, $20 off $100 or $40 off $150 automatically in cart until 4/10/11, which drops the price to $84 if ordered without other items.  I wouldn’t call it an exact replica of the Louboutins because you surely wouldn’t mistake one for the other (no signature red heel and less pointy spikes, for instance), but they’re clearly perfect for getting a very similar overall look.  Plus, if you missed the N.Y.L.A. version while it was at Nordstrom, this appears to be the exact same shoe but (presumably) sold under the Frederick’s label.

Update: See more Clou Noeud knockoffs from another post.

The other interesting shoes I came across (pictured above) are from Victoria’s Secret.  This is a style from Naughty Monkey and you’ll likely recognize the tack studded heel from another pair, the Jeffrey Campbell Tick - you know, the shoe that totally gave office supplies a fashion moment when they first came out in 2009.  Naughty Monkey’s version, again, is slightly different with the slingback, double strap styling and the various colored studs on one of the pairs.  I don’t know the exact name of the shoe because Victoria’s Secret usually doesn’t list this information (it’s called Embellished Wedge), but it doesn’t look like it’s currently available anywhere else.  You can get it in black or taupe for $80 (sold out).  If you add something else to your order to meet the minimum purchase requirement, you can get $15 off $100, $30 off $150 or $75 off $250 by applying coupon code SPRING11 through 5/3/11.  The expected ship date is 4/20/11.

Update: Mystery solved:  This shoe is the Not Rated Gaga and it’s also available in black at Journeys for $79.99 (ships in May) and in grey at Buckle for the same price.  Not Rated is a brand owned by the same company as Naughty Monkey.  Update 2: The black version is available at LuLu’s for $79.  Update 3: Piperlime has the black version for $79, Shoemall has grey or black for $79.95 and Zappos has black, grey or taupe for $84.99.

Note that prices and promotions listed are subject to change.
