Fun Shoes for Friday: Fergie Krown Sandal + update Fergie shoes on American Idol

Friday, March 18th, 2011

I saw these hot shoes featured on Endless today as examples of the 70’s inspired platform shoes trend we’re seeing this spring.  I recognized the pair on the left, the Steve Madden Turnpyke, which is a great option for applying an additional trend, the orange trend I mentioned before.  But, I hadn’t seen the shoes on the right yet and, naturally, I had to find out who makes them.

Turns out, this is a new style from Fergie Shoes, the Fergie Krown, and I am definitely loving the multiple gold bands that wrap around the foot and the super-versatile mix of taupe and metallic.  For even more contrast, there’s the black and gold version:

Black and gold make such a nice pair, don’t they?

It’s even better that Endless is having their Friends and Family Sale right now, so you can get these for less if your order is over $100.  Apply coupon code MARFFEVT (exp. 3/18/11) to knock 25% off your total, which would make them $67.46 instead of $89.95.  Free overnight shipping also currently applies.

Update: Speaking of Fergie Shoes, Fergie herself wore some hot shoes from her line during the Black Eyed Peas performance on American Idol last Thursday (3/17/11), according to Fergie Shoes on Facebook.  She’s looking gorgeous in a customized version of the Fergie Bold, which you can find in stone or black at Shoes.com for $99 or at Fergie Shoes for the same price.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion Shoes: Working it out in Louboutins

Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011

The cast members of The Real Housewives franchise on Bravo are each quite different in their own way, but if there is one common denominator among the women, it’s that they all love shoes.  And, more often than not, they like to get their footwear fix from Christian Louboutin (as discussed in several of my previous posts).  So, it’s no surprise that we saw plenty of red soles flashing on the The Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion for Season 3.  After all, when you have some explainin’ to do for all of your antics during the season, you must have your best power pumps on.  What I didn’t know, however, is that host Andy Cohen also has a thing for shoes.  On Watch What Happens Live, he let us in on a little tradition where he selects his favorite pair of shoes from those worn by the Housewives during the reunion taping.  And, according to this video footage, Andy is all about sparkly and rock ‘n’ roll styles, making him a man after my own heart for sure.  You can see all of the shoes up close in the video, but here’s a rundown of what the ladies wore:

Kandi Burruss wore the Christian Louboutin Miss Fast booties with spike detail.  These were available at Saks for $1,095 at Saks, but are now sold out.

Phaedra Parks wore the Christian Louboutin Ambertina, available for $895 at Barney’s, but only a couple of sizes are left.

NeNe Leakes wore the Christian Louboutin Pigalili in gold.  The silver version is available in limited sizes for $3,545 at Christian Louboutin.

Kim Zolciak wore a nude version of the Christian Louboutin Pigalle spiked pump, like this one in denim.  I don’t see the nude pair for sale online.

Sheree Whitfield wore these $895 Christian Louboutin Maggie heels, which are also sold out.

Cynthia Bailey was the only one not in Louboutins.  She wore a YSL platform pump that appears to be this metallic silver version, available for $895 at YSL.

Andy’s favorite pair was Phaedra’s Ambertina sandal.  Of course, we can’t all splurge like the Housewives do, so I tracked down some shoes that have similar elements, but at a much lower price.  Here’s what I found:

BCBGeneration Flossy boots on sale for $51.99 at Shoemall (originally $129.95).  Act by today and use coupon code SAVE25 for 25% off $25 or more and you’ll score them for just $38.99 (expires 2/23/11).

Fever Raven for $250 at Fever Shoes.

Wild Pair Celeste for $80 at Amazon or for the same price at Bakers.

Betsey Johnson Ice in gold glitter for $85 at Zappos.

Sam Edelman Lorissa spikes heel in nude for $200 at Karmaloop.  Apply coupon code OHSNAP to get 15% off $75, making them $170 (expires 2/28/11).

Paris Hilton Patty for $59.95 at DSW.  Members get free shipping with coupon code SHIPR (expires 3/21/11)

Steve Madden Fantasha for $99.95 at Steve Madden.  Coupon code rmn15f takes 15% off and gives free shipping, making them $84.96 (expiration unknown).

Fun Shoes for Friday: Bebe Dita Gilded Slingback heels

Friday, February 4th, 2011

Back at Bebe.com are the Bebe Dita Gilded Slingback heels, which sold out lightning-quick the first time they were offered back in October, as I noted on Facebook, and are now back in stock in black or beige.  The ornate gold gilding detail on these extravagant heels are tailor-made for the modern-day Greek goddess who must be seen - there’s no way these won’t stand out everywhere they go.  History must be repeating itself because the black pair is almost sold out already, but there are still several sizes available in the beige pair, which is my personal fave.  Get them at Bebe for $198 and, for a limited time, shipping is discounted to $2.14.  You can even receive them in time to wear for Valentine’s Day with standard shipping if you order by 2/7/11 at 12 pm PST.

I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Update: Bebe just restocked more of the Bebe Dita in white, ice princess, black or beige.

Fun shoes for Friday: Sam Edelman Lorissa spike heels

Friday, January 7th, 2011
They say the shoes you wear say a lot about you. If that’s the case and you want your shoes to send the message that you kick bootie, take names and look super-fab while doing it, the Sam Edelman Lorissa is just your thing. And if a New Year means a New You, you can resolve to bring out your bold and brazen side much more in 2011 with this popular style, which has been offered in black suede and white leather previously, but is now available in two new versions - black leather and nude.

Black leather is a classic combo with spikes, but I’m drooling over the barely-there shade of nude, which draws even more attention to the spike detail and, hopefully, elongates the legs. It’s especially ideal for spring and adding nice dose of tough to those sweet little girly dresses many of us like to wear when the weather heats up.  There are several places to purchase these shoes right now, but the best price I’m seeing is at Shoes.com, where you can find the nude, white, black suede and black leather versions for $199 each.  Apply coupon code VISA to discount your total by 20% and drop the price to $159.20 with free shipping.  The coupon may require payment by Visa and expires 6/30/11.  A few other stores that carry the Lorissa include Zappos, Endless, Solestruck and Piperlime.

These spikes look downright dangerous, don’t they?  Wear these out and show ‘em who’s boss.

Shoe Woo Final Clearance Sale: Extra 50-80% off shoes & boots at checkout

Wednesday, January 5th, 2011

It’s January and ’tis the season for serious shoe bargains while stores clear inventory to make way for spring, so we’re sure to see plenty of steep discounts going on throughout the month (always a good thing for our shoe shopping tendencies).  But, when it comes to sales, there are those that leave you a bit underwhelmed with the prices and then there are those with red-hot, OMG type discounts.  That’s what’s I’m seeing right now over at Shoe Woo, a site that sells Jones Apparel Group shoe brands like Nine West, Rachel Rachel Roy, Enzo Angiolini, Bandolino, Anne Klein and more.  The bad news - for those who shop there - is that the website is closing (store locations will remain open).  The good news?  As a result, they are having a “Crazy Clearance” sale with some drastically reduced prices on their selection of shoes and boots, which get an extra 50-80% off at checkout.  For instance, the Enzo Angiolini Nate boot (pictured above), which has a cuff you can wear up or down, is normally $250 and gets an additional 80% off in-cart for a price of just $50 in black or brown.  Here are some additional styles you might want to check out:

The Nine West Paoletta in black is marked down from $89 to $34.99 and gets another 50% off at checkout, making it $17.49.  A leopard version is also available (almost sold out) for $49.99 and $24.99 in-cart.

The Bandolino Indulge in grey suede, black suede or black leather is $109 and reduced to $21.80 after an 80% off in-cart discount.

The Rachel Roy Wava boot in plaid or black is marked down from $159 to $111.30 and gets another 60% off at checkout, making it $44.52.

The Enzo Angiolini Maiden in black is $99 and gets 70% off in-cart, making it $29.70.

The Joan & David Beesly in black or grey/black is $325 and gets 70% off at checkout, which reduces the price to $97.50.

The Enzo Angiolini Kaiser in taupe or black is $120 and 80% off is taken at checkout, dropping the price to $24.

There are plenty of more shoes and boots to choose from, so be sure to check it out!

Note that each shoe is marked with its eligible discount and all sales are final.  Shipping adds a flat $5 to your order.

Update: I noticed that some of the prices listed here have changed since this was originally posted, so be sure to double-check the current pricing if you plan to make a purchase.

More or Less: Christian Louboutin Madame Butterfly & Steve Madden Faame

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

I hope everyone had a very happy New Year!  To start 2011 off right on this shoe blog, I definitely had to pick a super-hot shoe as the first pair featured of the year.  The Christian Louboutin Madame Butterfly (pictured above) isn’t a brand-new style and, in addition, multiple bow detail along the vamp of a shoe isn’t exactly a new concept either, but I’m still all about it.  Multiple celebs have donned this style and I also noticed that the Louboutin-loving Kim from The Real Housewives of Atlanta wears these heels in some of the promos for the show (Update: Kim, who is pregnant, also wore these shoes on the 1/30 episode of Watch What Happens Live when she appeared with boyfriend Kroy and Andy Cohen threw her a baby shower on the show).  Bows are always sweet - and three bows take it to triple-threat girly territory - but the super-high heel keeps it both sweet and sexy.  You can get them in black or beige at Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,195, but there’s another option that’s similar in appearance, but much lighter in price:

The Steve Madden Faame is made of satin rather than leather, but it has the same trio of bows and sky-high heel for a very comparable look.  You can snag these at Steve Madden for $109.95 in black or champagne, but save more by applying coupon code FB100K for 30% off and free shipping, which drops them to $76.97.  Or, if you prefer the champagne version, get an even better price at 6pm, where they are on sale for $65.97 plus shipping.

The Steve Madden coupon expires 1/15/11.

On My Wish List: The Jeffrey Campbell Libby Tick

Monday, December 6th, 2010

I think I’ve been pretty good this year.  Ok, for the most part anyway, but I’m hoping Santa will understand and still put a pair of these bad babies under my tree for Christmas.  It’s the Libby Tick boot, one of the latest in the line of tack-studded shoes from Jeffrey Campbell, and I must say it’s probably one of my favorite versions so far.  The studded wedge heel is always a statement maker, but you can also get creative with the suede wrap up shaft, which can be styled different ways (I found this picture on eBay that shows how the Libby boot looks when unwrapped) and appears to accomodate a variety of calf sizes.  My personal favorite is the black version with silver tacks from Solestruck pictured above.  They also have ivory and taupe options, each for $269.95 with free shipping.  But, you can save big bucks by purchasing the tan or khaki version with gold-tone hardware at Karmaloop:

They are both priced at $280, but you can apply SNOW30 or CHILLY at checkout to get 30% off $250, free shipping and a $20 gift code for a future purchase (expiration unknown).  That takes the price down to $196, which is definitely a significant savings.

I find myself very tempted by this pair as well:

This is the Jeffrey Campbell Jesmeen and it’s available in brown or black leather for $199.95 at Solestruck.
