Sale Spotlight: Extra 30% off clearance & free shipping at ALDO

Friday, December 11th, 2009

ALDO is having a clearance sale-on-a-sale and the savings are hot.  That’s because they’ve reduced the prices on all women’s clearance by an extra 30% and they’ve also thrown in free shipping.  Whether you are looking for some extra-pretty party shoes, a cool new pair of boots or anything in-between, ALDO has something to fit the bill and the budget.  Here are a few standouts:

Get sequined up and shine in the ALDO Ingels for $24.49.  Choose from gold, silver or black.

Rock your sequins in a peep toe style instead with the ALDO Garlanda in black, which is $27.99

Brighten everything up in a super-sunny yellow peep toe pump, the ALDO Himel for $31.49.

Make a statement in the lace-up ALDO Miltner, which is $34.99.

This pair looks a lot like the Carlos Santana Believe 2 or the Jimmy Choo Criss Cross Sandal at Bergdorf (which is no longer available), but the price is way lower.  Get the ALDO Kobis for $27.99.

This super-strappy boot, the ALDO Mazingo, is marked down from $220 to $76.99.

This lace-up ALDO Fontlant has a unique, funky vibe and it’s just $38.49.

This purple suede ankle boot with pyramid heel, the ALDO Froling, is reduced to $45.49.

There are lots of other clearance shoes to check out during this sale, which ends on 12/14/09.  The free shipping offer ends 12/12/09, but coupon code VIPOFFER should also work for the same discount.

Sale Spotlight: 20% off Jeffrey Campbell unicorn shoes & more shoes on sale at Karmaloop

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

If you love the edgy and cult-fave shoe brands Karmaloop carries, like Jeffrey Campbell, 80%20, Irregular Choice, Zigi and Dolce Vita, then you may want to take note of Karmaloop coupon GOLDSTAR (exp. 12/31/09), which takes 20% off any order.  I’m definitely loving several of the uncommonly cool shoes they offer, so I thought I’d turn the spotlight on a few pairs that caught my eye (prices listed are after the 20% coupon):

The Jeffrey Campbell Michelle with unicorn heel for $84, originally $105.  It comes in purple, black or nude.

The military-inspired and ornate Zigi Shoes Pepper Boot for $232, originally $290.

Hmm..is this named after a certain famous performer we all know?  The multi-zippered Jeffrey Campbell Gaga heel is on sale for $124, originally $155.

I’ve mentioned this pair at Urban Outfitters before, but the Seychelles Tippy Toes heel in teal is offered at Karmaloop for a lower price of $80, reduced from $100.

I imagine Dolce Vita may have been inspired for the name of this pair by unofficial “spokesperson” Whitney Port, who famously wears what looks like their own Dolce Vita Cher on the show opening of MTV’s The City.  The Dolce Vita Whitney Boot is $104, reduced from $130, but sizes are becoming a bit limited.

Speaking of Whitney, I believe her The City co-star Roxy Olin wore something like this Jeffrey Campbell Obscene boot in an early episode this past season.  It’s a thigh high boot with straps on the side that you can attach to your belt.  It’s on sale for $200, reduced from $250.

Channel your inner rock-star cowboy self in this brocade 80%20 Wren boot with hidden wedge and stud detail.  It’s $144, reduced from $180.

Here’s a boot with a twist: the Irregular Choice Wild Western boot is $126.40, reduced from $158.

Of note, shipping is extra when you use the GOLDSTAR code, but Karmaloop also has a promotion for free shipping on any order and $20 off $120 or more with code FREE120.  That might result in higher savings, depending on the order size and applicable shipping charges.

Message from Princess: Holiday shoes I’m thankful for this season

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

When I think of pretty holiday shoes, I think of sparkle, shine, ruffles, bows, sequins and any other fancy adornments that make your feet look like a perfectly wrapped present.  That’s why I’m loving these particular shoes, which are ideal for holiday occasions that require a little something extra and make each step that much merrier.  These pairs have “celebration” written all over them:

Betsey Johnson Law for $148.99 with free shipping at Heels.com

You can check out my sequin shoe posts here and here for even more options. I also think the Naughty Monkey Resurrection is a great holiday shoe choice.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

More or Less: Christian Louboutin Dillian & Report Signature Dante

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

I really love the Christian Louboutin Dillian, but it’s $1,695 at Nordstrom and probably won’t be sitting pretty in my closet anytime soon.  I’ve done a More or Less on this pair before with the look-alike Dollhouse Soleil, but here’s another similar pair by Report Signature:

The Report Signature Dante takes the floral, ruffled look of the Dillian, tones it down a bit and gives it more edge with the zipper detail lining.  Oh, and there’s also a purple version…love:

I found a great sale price on this pair. It’s at Nordstrom for $129.90, marked down from $194.95.  Sizes are kind of limited, but you can find more sizes at 80s Purple for $213.  Get 20% off with coupon code hautemacabre until 11/13/09.  Update: There’s also good size selection at Victoria’s Secret, where this pair is $215 and you can get $30 off with coupon code FALL09 until 11/18/09.

If that’s still a little much to spend, don’t forget the Dollhouse Soleil.  It’s available in blue, black, purple and pewter at Shoes.com for $48.  Apply coupon code ENJOY09 for 20% off, making them $38.90 with free shipping.

Update: Here’s another similar option, the Vince Camuto Marcia pump in black or purple suede for $117.95 at Nordstrom.

Update 2: Another option is the Luichiny Gim for $79.95 at Endless.

Reality Show Shoe-cap: Shoes from Erin on The City & The Rachel Zoe Project

Sunday, October 18th, 2009

Today, I thought we’d talk about some shoes seen recently on reality TV.  This past week marked the end of The Rachel Zoe Project (tear) and we saw two shoes worn by Rachel and Taylor in the finale (including the pair Rachel dubbed her tranny shoes).  But first, we have more shoes from The City season 2.  We’ve covered the footwear choices of Whitney Port, but now we must talk about Erin.  Erin, who is new to the show, is the Director of PR at Elle (the youngest one ever) and she seems to be quite the power player, ready to whip new accessories editor Olivia into submission and show her who’s boss.  Although Whitney never quite put Olivia in her place during the first season, Erin certainly intends to - especially in these shoes:

When Erin debuts on the show, the first thing we notice is her feet - in these amazing Christian Louboutin Very Prive studded peep toe heels (seen on Polyvore).  Yes, nothing says “She Who Must Be Obeyed” like a heel with little spikes all over it.  I don’t see this pair available for sale anywhere, but the similar Christian Louboutin Pigalle stud pump is at luisaviaroma for $1,097.70 (limited sizes) or at net-a-porter for $995.  For lower-priced alternatives, try these:

Dolce Vita Trinity, a shoe definitely on my love list right now, for $210 at Saks Fifth Avenue.  Get 25% off using coupon code FRIENDS2 until 10/18/09, making them $157.50.  Also available at Bloomingdales for $210.

Lovely People Aziza stud platform peep toe pump for $69.99 at Smartbargains.  It looks like you get an extra 10% off and free shipping at checkout too.

Rock & Republic Nika for $279 at Zappos.

If you’re digging the pair Erin wears in the MTV promo pic above, it’s the Report Signature Masonic, found at Amazon for $134.95 or $188.99 depending on the size selected.  Also available at Endless for $137.47 in very limited sizes, at Bluefly for $149.99 or at Heels.com for $224.09.  Update: You can also get this same style at QVC for $125.

Looking to spend less on this look?  Try the ALDO Smeal for $89.98 with free shipping at Amazon.

Or, substitute chains for studs with this drool-worthy Jeffrey Campbell Posh-2 chain platform for $164.95 at Solestruck.

On to The Rachel Zoe Project: In the season finale, Rachel rocks this two-tone Louis Vuitton platform wedge in gold and black from the fall 2008 RTW collection (seen on Style.com).  She also wore an all-black version earlier in the season.  I love these on her and, although Bebe made this France platform wedge clearly inspired by this shoe, they are now sold out and I couldn’t find anything else that closely resembles this unique pair.  However, an extra-tall and funky platform should fit the bill, capturing a similar look without imitating the exact style.  Try these:

Jeffrey Campbell Tryst for $109.95 with free shipping at Solestruck.

Cool, Casual by Slow and Steady Wins the Race at Urban Outfitters for $88.  Coupon code BIGMOUTH takes an additional 10% off until 10/26/09.

Deena and Ozzy Mary Jane Wedge for $49.99 at Urban Outfitters.  Use coupon code listed above for 10% off.

BCBGirls Ris Wedge for $60.47 with free shipping from Endless.

Marley Crisscross Wedge for $99.95 at Free People.

Update: Here’s another pair called the Sam Edelman Zoe for $350 at Urban Outfitters.  Was it inspired by Rachel herself (hence the name)?  Maybe so!

Finally, there’s Taylor.  On the finale, Taylor proves the squeaky wheel gets the grease a promotion from styling associate to head of product development.  She also wears some suede boots during a trip to QVC headquarters with Rach that looked a lot like this Christian Louboutin ankle boot.  Here are some more affordable suede boots to check out:

Nine West Zenon for $119 at Nine West.  Apply coupon code NWFRND6 to get 30% off until 10/18/09.

Nine West Ignatious for $109 at Macy’s.  Get free shipping on $99 or more using coupon code FAVEFIND at checkout until 10/22/09.

Lumiani Regine for $145 with free shipping at Zappos.

Extra 25% off sale items at Shoes.com, Fergie Mission for $57.99 & more

Thursday, October 8th, 2009

Shoes.com is offering an extra-nice coupon right now that takes an additional 25% off sale and clearance shoes.  Use code 1492 at checkout to get the savings on top of their already-reduced sale prices and free shipping.  I L-to-the-O-to-the-V-to-the-E (I know, I know…couldn’t resist) this Fergie Mission heel, which was originally $109 and reduced to $76.30.  After coupon, get it for just $57.22 in magenta, blue, black or taupe.  Other standouts for me include the XOXO Cobra heel for $40.49, the Hale Bob Palermo cage heel for $65.24 and the Report Signature Dita for $88.49. Buy More, Save More Shoe Sale at Lord & Taylor

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

If you’re looking to amp up your personal shoe collection for fall, a Buy More, Save More Sale is a great way to go.  I love this kind of sale because you really can save a lot, especially if you can afford to spend more to reap the highest discount (hence, the name of the sale).  In some cases, you can even get an extra pair of shoes for practically free, as I found previously in this Bloomingdales sale post from April.  Well, Lord & Taylor happens to be having a Buy More, Save More Sale right now, which takes 20% off 1 pair of shoes or boots, 25% off 2 or 3 pairs or 30% off 4 or more.  Both regular and sale shoes are eligible for the discount, but some brands are excluded.  I’ve been checking out these particular styles:

Betsey Johnson Rally black satin peep toe mary jane for $120

Steve Madden Bonanza tall suede boot in grey, black or brown for $63.20

BCBGeneration Dania suede platform pump in purple or black for $71.20

BCBGeneration Moira suede wedge bootie in brown or black for $94.40.

The prices listed take into account the 20% discount for 1 pair.

Ok, here’s where it gets interesting (and my trusty calculator gets busted out).  If you opt for the 25% off discount for 2 or 3 pairs, you can save up to $90 for the particular shoes listed here, which isn’t bad at all.  The 3 highest-priced items would total $267.75 after discount.  But, you can get all 4 pairs for $305.20, which is only about $37 more than getting just 3.  Obviously, the money-saving possibilities are endless depending on the styles you pick and the amount you want to spend, but be sure and work the numbers before the sale ends on 9/28/09.

By the way, current Lord & Taylor coupon code SEPTSALE for 15% off does not combine with this sale.
