Purple wedding shoes in plum & more shades

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

Since wedding season is upon us, we have plenty of brides looking for the ideal shoes to go along with their dress; thus, we have another bridal-themed Find My Shoes post today!  I received two requests recently from brides-to-be that are both looking for purple shoes for their big day.  First, we have Shannon, who is wearing the beautiful Alfred Angelo Belle dress (pictured above, left) and wants to find shoes in the shade of David’s Bridal plum.  She loves the look of the $230 High Society Heel at My Glass Slipper (pictured above, right), but needs something more affordable.  We also have Jessica, who wants to find an elegant, not-too-expensive style in bright purple.  So, I’ve been on the hunt for a plethora of pretty purple pumps that just might work for these ladies, or at least hopefully so.  Here’s what I found:

After looking at available options, I believe the best way to get the look of the High Society heel on a budget is to go with a shoe clip.  The nice thing about going this route is having more flexibility to choose the exact shoe style you want – for instance, Bridalshoes.com has lots of dyeable wedding shoes under $100 in various heel heights and 4 shades of purple to choose from.  A simple, but dressy heel, like the dyeable satin Touch Ups Flash-647 (pictured above, left) could work well and it’s affordably priced at $54 with a $14 dye fee.  You can then pick out a shoe clip and I tend to like the wide selection of options at Etsy.  The floral shoe clip pictured above is $24 in gold or silver and I think it would look really nice contrasted with purple.  When you combine the cost of the shoe and the shoe clip, it totals $92, which is less than half the cost of the High Society style.

Here are some ready-made options I found (Note: I tried to get as close as possible to the requested plum shade, but I am basing this solely on the picture, which may not always be exact):

Allure Bridals Starlight for $79.95 with free shipping at Shoebuy.  Coupon code SPRING15 takes 15% off (expiration unknown).

RSVP Cailyn for $99 with free shipping at Zappos.

Nina Elke for $99 with free shipping from Zappos.

Coloriffics Rave for $99.95 with free shipping at Endless.  Spend $100 or more on eligible styles, including this one, and get 20% off with coupon code FORMAL12 (exp 5/7/12).  The base color of these shoes appears lighter, but the stones are a darker purple.

Poetic Licence Spectacle in purple for $62 with free shipping from Must Have Shoes or $79 with free shipping from Planet Shoes.

Touch Ups by Benjamin Adams Bev for $61.99 with free shipping from Shoes.com.  Coupon code SECRET20 takes 20% off (exp unknown).

Bourne Susie in Aubergine for $136.85 with free shipping from Endless.

Poetic Licence Force of Nature, an option that’s a bit different than the rest, but still has plenty of purple, for $89.40 at Dillards or $109 at Must Have Shoes, both with free shipping.

Now for some bright purple options.  I included more variety as far as the actual shade goes with these shoes since bright purple can mean different things to different people.  Of course, it’s the bride’s call to determine what exact shade will work for her, so here are some possibilities to consider:

Charles by Charles David Glacee in purple for $125.34 with free shipping from Endless.

Dyeables Lacey in purple for $69.99 with free shipping at Shoes.com.  Coupon code SECRET20 takes 20% off (exp unknown).

Coloriffics Miley in purple for $69.95 with free shipping from Endless.  Spend $100 or more on eligible styles, including this one, and get 20% off with coupon code FORMAL12 (exp 5/7/12).

Ivanka Trump Alluvia for $82.11 with free shipping at Endless.

H by Halston Abigail for $59.99 at Bakers (for the platform lovers!).

Steve Madden Hadley-R for $119.95 at Steve Madden and coupon code SMSPRING15 takes 15% off $75 and gives free shipping for a limited time.

Lulu Townsend Blossom wedge for $54.95 at DSW.  Members get free shipping on $35 with coupon code SHIPR through 6/20/12.

Nine West Devika for $49.99 with free shipping at 6pm.

Pour La Victoire Evelia for $74.50 with free shipping at Endless.

J.Renee Rosina in multi for $79.95 with free shipping at Endless.  This option clearly isn’t solid purple, but if you look close at the glitter, there is plenty of purple mixed in, so it could be really pretty.

Congratulations to both brides!

White sparkly wedding shoes + purple rhinestone bow bridal heels

Monday, March 19th, 2012

I’ve talked about the gorgeous Enzo Angiolini Show You in blush before, but I had to mention the style again when I laid eyes on the white version (above), which I imagine many brides-to-be will fall head over heels in love with.  It’s not that you have to be walking down the aisle to wear them, but they are particularly well-suited for the occasion.  The all-over rhinestone detail gives a look that’s similar to those pricey Swarovski crystal encrusted heels, which tend to be hundreds or even thousands of dollars (Case in point: The Louboutin Sexy Strass for $3,095).  And while we have seen an ongoing trend for wearing bold pops of color in wedding shoes, there will still be plenty of people who prefer to keep their ensemble in traditional head-to-toe white, but perhaps with some serious sparkle added in.  The Enzos provide plenty of that and I really love the way the white upper looks against the irridescent crystals – beautiful!  If you’re enamoured with them too, you can find them at Nordstrom for $159.95.

Update: I also just came across the Enzo Angiolini Show You in Dark Pink, which is available for $150 with free shipping at Zappos.  You can also find these in White, Dark Pink, and Dark Blue at Endless for $150 to $159 with free shipping.

While we’re on the topic of bridal shoes, I also had a request on Facebook to help find the Steve Madden Luvly in purple (above), another shoe I’ve previously mentioned, for an upcoming wedding.  Like the Enzos, this is a gorgeous option that offers plenty of sparkle, this time with a large rhinestone bow.  It appears to be sold out everywhere, but I do currently see two listings at Ebay for a size 7 or 7.5 and they are new in box from a top-rated seller.  That’s an option if the sizes are right, but a very similar look could be achieved using a shoe clip.  Here’s an example of a shoe and a clip that could create the desired effect:

Pink Margarita White Bridal Shoes dyed in purple for $94 ($80 plus $14 dye charge) at Bridalshoes.com.

Rhinestone Bow Shoe Clips for $36 at Etsy.

Another advantage to this option is the ability to detach the clip to wear on other shoes after the wedding day.

Hopefully this helps out!

Find My Shoes: Purple wedding heels & Jeffrey Campbell Shadow

Friday, February 3rd, 2012

So…obviously it’s been awhile since I’ve updated the site.  I didn’t intend to stop posting, but the demands of life got pretty intense for me over the holidays: A project at work that required a lot of extra hours and family stuff basically took over.  But, it seems things have calmed down a bit and I really want to get back to something I love: shoes!  And talking about them on this blog!  I plan to get back into the swing of things and I thought answering some shoe questions I recently received would be a good way to start.  You may have noticed the gorgeous Enzo Angiolini Thaddea in purple pictured above – it’s a shoe I loved the first time I saw it, but I also posted it for a more specific reason:  I had a request from Jasmine on Facebook to help find purple / eggplant wedding shoes, preferably with some bling.  These are one of my favorite fancy purple pairs of the moment – I’m loving the feather and gem detail, not to mention the color – and they can be purchased at Lord & Taylor for $129.  Apply coupon code FINAL to get 15% off, making them $109.65 with free shipping (expires 2/7).  They are also available at Nordstrom for $119.95 with free shipping.

I really like the Enzos, but I also realize that every bride is different in what they envision themselves walking down the aisle in.  Thus, we need options, options, and more options, which works out well because I never mind checking out more pretty purple shoes.  I think the Poetic License Spectacle in purple is a sweet choice.  It has a more classic vibe, but the all-over texture adds extra interest and the bow is bedecked in rhinestones for added bling.  Plus, the heel is just over 3 inches, which is quite moderate compared to many shoes available these days and may translate to additional comfort – avoiding foot pain is an obvious plus on the big day.  The Poetic Licence Spectacle is available at Endless for $60.23, down from $98.  If you spend over $100 on eligible styles, including this pair, you get 20% off through 2/14.

Here are some more dark purple heels I found, in various styles that range from classic to a bit more over-the-top dramatic (or somewhere in-between):

Steve Madden Bitter for $129.95 at Endless.  Get 20% off $100 on this style at checkout through 2/14/12.

RSVP Ramona for $53.40 with free shipping at 6pm.

Badgley Mischka Lissa in purple for $245 with free shipping at Zappos.

RSVP Fleur for $48.30 with free shipping at 6pm.

Bourne Susie for $140.51 with free shipping at Endless.

Paris Hilton Crystal for $99 at Macys.  Apply coupon code RED to get 20% off no minimum and free shipping on $99 or more (expires 2/5/12).

Isola Tate for $66.99 with free shipping at 6pm.

After a nice dose of purple bridal shoes, we’re going to switch gears to something completely different.  I had an email question from Shadae about the shoes above, which were pictured on Tumblr, and where to find them.  I actually recognized them right away because, well, this is the kind of shoe you remember once you lay your eyes on it.

This is one of Jeffrey Campbell’s latest naughty creations, the heel-less, totally spiked out Jeffrey Campbell Shadow.  It’s definitely packing some serious edge for the fearless fashion lovers among us and can be found in black leather or patent at Karmaloop for $264 (no promo codes apply at this time) or at Solestruck in black leather for $264.95.

On a related note, Solestruck also offers the Jeffrey Campbell Prickly, a mary jane heel-less style in beige or black, for $219.95.  Update:  The Jeffrey Campbell Prickly in beige is available for $219.90 at Akira.

Have a great weekend!

Irregular Choice Abigail’s Party in sequins + discounts

Monday, August 15th, 2011

I don’t know about you guys, but I have been oh-so-crazy busy over the past week that I am totally ready to indulge in a little shoe fantasy again, even if just for a bit of diversion.  The object of my affection right now?  Abigail’s Party.  Ok, it’s actually Abigail’s 3rd party because clearly Abigail, whomever she is, loves herself a fancy little soiree.  Yes, we’ve seen this same shoe from Irregular Choice recreated in many lovely patterns and colors, but I have to admit that the blue-green sequin version (above) grabbed me immediately.  It’s fanciful, not really practical, and I’m not even sure what I’d wear with it exactly, but I do know that it looks like a pretty little party for the feet and I, for one, would covet an invite.  It could also be a wedding shoe option for the bride who wants something whimsical —  I actually came across it after searching for some wedding shoe options requested by a Facebook friend.  You can find the Irregular Choice Abigail’s 3rd Party at Irregular Choice for $155.  If the light blue color isn’t your thing, there’s also an all-black version for the same price, as well as this pair from Shoebuy:

You really can’t beat the black / tan combo for a little extra versatility and I’m definitely loving it.  You can even get a discount: Shoebuy has it for $144.95 and coupon code EMLBIGGESTSALE11 takes 25% off, making the Irregular Choice Abigail’s Party $108.71 with free shipping.  Update: Also available at Must Have Shoes for $145.  There’s a purple floral pair for the same price:

If you love other styles from Irregular Choice, I also found these coupons that can be used to get a discount on the brand (and more shoes).  Choose your personal fave, then save with these offers:

Heels.com: Get 30% off your order, including Irregular Choice, with coupon code MOVINGONUP for a limited time.

Shoebuy: Get 25% off Irregular Choice shoes and more items with coupon code EMLBIGGESTSALE11 through 8/17/11.  Update: This code was extended and appears to be valid until 8/24/11.

Karmaloop: Find more color versions of the Irregular Choice Abigail’s Party and additional styles, some on sale.  Get 20% off $100 and free shipping with coupon code SAVE20 (first orders, expiration unknown).

Happy Monday!

Fun Shoes for Friday: RACHEL Rachel Roy Chrissta

Friday, August 5th, 2011

Leopard and other animal prints are unquestionably huge for fall and we’re seeing many shoe options that incorporate the trend right now, but I definitely appreciate this particular take on it.  The RACHEL Rachel Roy Chrissta has the whole animalistic look going on, but with a twist: it pops in bold purple and shades of blue and green.

Then you have the hanging spike detail in the back, which is a unique touch that gives it even more of a primal vibe.  I must say, it’s appealing to my natural instincts for sure.

You can find this style at Macy’s for $120 and apply coupon code SCORE15 to get 15% off, making the total $102 with free shipping.  The coupon expires 8/7/11.

Fun Shoes for Friday: Senso Sahara, Senso Wilma in pink leopard & more at Karmaloop

Friday, March 25th, 2011

I normally feature one shoe on Friday that’s tailor-made for going out, but today must be a deluxe edition because I had to post more than one shoe from Senso.  If you regularly browse the selection over at Solestruck, you’ve likely already seen this brand (I’ve also mentioned them here and here).  But, as of earlier this week, you can also find them at Karmaloop, which is nice since Karmaloop seems to always have coupons available to discount your purchase.  These shoes aren’t just for going out, they’re for going ALL out – the kind that get noticed everywhere they step.  Are they practical?  Well, no.  But, making a statement can trump being sensible more than we care to admit.  So, if you’re up for something bold and edgy to hit the town in, check out these styles at Karmaloop:

Senso Sahara, my fave, in multi for $198.

Senso Wilma in hot pink leopard, pewter glitter or tan leopard for $200.  This is one of the styles we’ve also seen at Solestruck, but they are very close to being sold out right now.

Senso Sally in purple for $198.

Senso Neve in Kaleidoscope Black for $235.  We’ve seen this style before too, but this particular color is exclusive to Karmaloop.  It also comes in Black Nappa and Gun Metal.

Senso Rush glitter wedge for $175.

See all of the styles from Senso Diffusion at Karmaloop for more options.  Then, get a sweet discount via coupon code PDYAL9 which takes 15% off $80 and gives free shipping.  The coupon expires 3/27/11.

For more shoe savings, check out these sales and coupons:

Rock & Republic shoes under $50: YOOX is having a clearance sale that takes up to 85% off sale items, including clearance designer shoes.  There are tons of options, but I noticed there are quite a few Rock & Republic styles marked way down.  Normally $145-$180, these styles are now $40-$49 with free shipping.

Shoes.com: Get 20% off your order, even on sale items, with coupon code SECRET20 through 3/31/11.  Some exclusions apply.

Chinese Laundry: Get 25% off sale shoes with coupon code 25MAR11 through 3/31/11.

Have a great weekend!

Find My Shoes: Purple satin peep toe heels with crystal detail

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

It seems a lot of people are on the hunt for the perfect pair of purple shoes, like in another recent Find My Shoes post, and I’m all too happy to help out in the search because I definitely find myself drawn to this pretty shade too.  This time, we have Sara, who mentioned on Facebook that she is looking for a dark purple satin pair with clear crystal detail.  I checked into it and found some shoes that just might fit the bill based on her description (or at least come close).  Here are the options I came across:

The Nina Nabal in purple for $44.98 plus shipping at 6pm or $65 with free shipping at Zappos (MSRP $89.95).

The Menbur Narya in purple for $106.31 (list $124) with free 2-day shipping from Endless.  I’m loving the sparkle down the heel.

The Menbur Chloe for $138.81 (list $184) with free 2-day shipping from Endless.  We don’t have all clear stones on this one, but it’s still a viable option.  Also, check out more in purple from Menbur here (I’m loving the Arda).

The Paco Mena Pelori for $95 with free 2-day shipping at Endless, plus more purple heels from the same brand.

The Miss Me Jocelyn-27 in purple for $46.33 (most sizes) with free shipping at Amazon.

Hopefully this will help, but it’s also worth noting that Facebook friend Crystal Couture out of the UK does custom crystal shoes, so that may be something to check into as well.  They have the purple Crystal Snowdrops (scroll down to see it) as an option.

Update:  Here’s another gorgeous purple pair, the Steve Madden Luvly.  Find it at Steve Madden for $129.95.
