Enzo Angiolini Yoursonly boot with glitter heel

Friday, July 27th, 2012

I recently did a post on shoes with standout details on the back of the heel and this Enzo Angiolini Yoursonly boot could definitely be added to that list.  I also mentioned in the same post that I’m not quite in fall boot mode yet, despite all of the new styles pouring into the stores right now.  Perhaps because it’s July and sweltering hot outside, but this is a nice transitional style – its slim shape and sandal-like cutouts at the top lend a bit of lightness to the look.  Also easing the transition?  The multicolor glitter-encrusted heel.  Check out the close-up:

This adds just enough color and sheen to an otherwise neutral bootie, but in a way that doesn’t take much from its overall versatility.  You can find the Enzo Angiolini Yoursonly at Endless for $149 with free shipping and you can also get it in black with a snakeskin heel.

Apply coupon code YOURSALE at Endless to get 20% off through 7/30/12.

Jeffrey Campbell Skulltini skull studded shoes

Friday, July 13th, 2012

I thought these Jeffrey Campbell Skulltini flats would be particularly appros for Friday the 13th, but not because the skull symbol might be seen as a sign of doom and gloom; rather, that it’s actually considered to be a good luck symbol for warding off bad things:

A little superstition aside, I’m finding the tiny little skulls all over this shoe pretty adorable (albeit in a slightly dark kind of way) and I’m particularly drawn to the pure white-on-white version.  It’s also available in five other colors, each available at Solestruck for $159.95.

Have a very lucky rest of the day (and a fabulous weekend)!

Shoes that WOW from behind

Wednesday, July 11th, 2012

It’s natural to want to put your best fashion details forward, so they can be admired when facing a person, but there’s certainly something to be said for leaving a lasting impression while walking away.  That’s why I tend to like shoes with eye-catching details placed on the back of the heel – the kind of styles that just might have you sauntering away from people way more often, but all in the name of a little harmless showing off.  For instance, we have the Sam Edelman Evan, which is an unassuming closed-toe pump in the front:

But it goes all-out glam in the back with its metallic and studded corset detail.

In addition to the black and gold version, which is available at Revolve Clothing for $150 or at Bloomingdales for the same price, there is also this metallic gold and silver Zinc option (also pictured at very top):

Heels.com has this one for $169.99.

I’ve also been seriously admiring this boot lately, even though I’m so not in fall boot mode yet:

Sure, this one has standout detail in the front in the form of a dramatic spikey collar around the ankle, but it’s also got an interesting element in the back via extra-long fringe:

I’ve always admired the compelling swaying effect this type of fringe makes when the wearer is in motion and the Jeffrey Campbell Amanda Spk can be found at Lori’s Shoes in beige or black for $228.95.

Here’s another one that’s sleek and simple up front:

But there’s a glitter party going on around back (very Miu Miu like, btw).

You can find the Vince Camuto Hariza for $148.95 at Nordstrom.

Finally, we have the Report Signature Targee, which appears to be a tame little nude platform pump:

But it definitely shows its wild side with this fringy mane that runs along the back of the heel:

Oh yes, the element of surprise tends to leave a lasting impression.

These can be found at Lulus for $189.

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

Sparkly multicolor shoes from Gianni Bini

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

If the only thing you like better than a mix of bold colors on a pair of shoes is a mix of bold colors with plenty of all-over sparkle, then I’ve got some styles for you.  I noticed the Gianni Bini brand offers some options that provide this look and, what can I say, I love all of the shimmery colorblocking going on, particularly at sub-$100 prices.  Pictured above is the Gianni Bini Jaysie, which is primarily cool in aqua and blue, but has a bit of orange at the bottom of the heel for a dash of warm and all-over jewels for plenty of shine.

If you prefer a sandal version, the Gianni Bini Tiara has a similar mix of colors in a t-strap peep toe style.

Or, get primary in the Gianni Bini Jazlyn, which is covered in rhinestones and red, blue, and yellow colorblocking.  These bring to mind the Giuseppe Zanotti Crystallized Colorblock Platform Slingback, but with a different silhouette.

Each of these shoes is priced at $89.99 and you can find them at Dillards.
