Spring boots from Miz Mooz at Endless

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Do any of you wear boots in spring and summer?  Personally, I rarely do.  When warm weather hits, I’m usually more than ready to put away my boots and swap them for sandals and flip flops.  “Spring boots” sounds like an oxymoron to me.  But, I’ve been hearing a bit of buzz lately about wearing boots in the warmer seasons, so it’s definitely worth some consideration.  If there was a boot that would sway me to try it out, it would have to be one of these cute styles from Miz Mooz that I spotted at Endless.com:

Miz Mooz Sandi in cognac (above), ice (pictured at top) or black for $159.95

Miz Mooz Susie in black, green, grey, ice or red for $159.95

I like the Susie in grey, but I have to admit the red version is spicier and would definitely be fun to wear:

The boots both feature perforation on the shaft that results in a “lighter” appearance and I imagine it would also help keep the legs a bit cooler too.  They would be cute paired with leggings, skinny jeans, mini skirts or dresses.

Hmm, maybe I will give spring boots a try this year - how about you?

Message from Princess: St. Patrick’s Day shoe sales

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010

Happy St. Patty’s Day to everyone!  Today may be the day to wear green or possibly eat or drink something of that color, but you can definitely save some green too.  The buzzword for the day seems to be “Lucky you” because I’m seeing it everywhere - accompanied by a nice discount, of course.  Here are some of the sales I’ve seen:

Macy’s started a new sale today that takes an extra 15% off shoe purchases automatically at checkout.  They are also having a buy 1 pair, get 25% off the second sale on shoes marked as eligible.  These two sales combine, so you’ll see both discounts at checkout on qualifying items.  You also get free shipping on shoe purchase $75 or more with coupon code NEWSHOES until 3/29/10.  Some exclusions apply.

DSW invites you to press your luck and get 15%, 30% or even 50% off at checkout.  To get the discount, add the items you want to your cart, log in to your DSW account and you’ll see your lucky savings at checkout.  Their site appears to be down at the moment, but hopefully that will be fixed very soon.  Expires 3/17/10.

Update 3/18/10: DSW issued coupon code UNLUCKY today in response to the technical difficulties they experienced.  The code takes $10 off any order until 3/19/10.  It excludes Skechers Shape-ups and Reebok Easy Tones.

Shoemall is taking 20% off orders today 3/17/10 only using coupon code SHAMROCK at checkout.  However, there’s an even sweeter coupon code MISSU30 that takes 30% off until 3/21/10.  The codes apply to sale items too, but some brand exclusions apply.  The Naughty Monkey Fiesta in black or purple goes from $79.95 to $55.97 after the 30% off code.

Shoebuy is having a St. Patrick’s Day sale that takes 20% off any order using coupon code GREEN at checkout.  The coupon expires 3/17/10.

Kenneth Cole takes a generous 40% off at checkout today and shipping is free on $50 or more.  Items that qualify for the discount are marked on the product page.

Charlotte Russe is having a buy 1 pair of shoes, get 50% off the second sale until 3/21/10.  If you don’t plan on purchasing two pairs, use coupon code LUCKYCJ to get 25% off any order 3/17/10 only.  These two discounts don’t combine.

Nordstrom is still offering free shipping on shoes using coupon code SHOES at checkout until 4/12/10.  While not technically a St. Patty’s Day sale, I had to mention that the Naughty Monkey Me O My in black and white is now on sale for just $34.90 with free shipping using the code.  You can also get in in blue.  Another good deal I noticed: The Steve Madden Loyyall for $44.90 with free shipping.

Have a very lucky day!

More or Less: Christian Louboutin Coussin lookalike - Boutique 9 Val by Nine West

Monday, March 15th, 2010

The Christian Louboutin Coussin is definitely a hot cage ankle bootie that can be worn with a variety of looks - skirts, dresses, boyfriend jeans, leggings, you name it - for instant sex appeal.  The Coussin in black has been out for a few months, but now we also have a spring-ready beige version available for preorder at Saks.  Of course, you’ll have to shell out $1,595 to rock this style and, I don’t know about you, but my spring shoe budget isn’t quite there yet.

But, there’s a similar option that is equally hot and available for a much lower price.  Actually, if I’m being honest, I like this style even better!  The Boutique 9 Val is a gorgeous woven caged bootie with extra details - like the bow adornment at the ankle, open toe and side cutouts - that make it even more lust-worthy in my book.  You can get these in beige or black at Nine West on preorder for $199.  Shipping is also free for a limited time.  The only downside?  They don’t ship until 5/11/10.  That seems like forever when you’re waiting on a pair of shoes like this one!

Looking for the lowdown on all the shoe sales this weekend?  Well, you’re in the right place.  Here are some of the best sales I’ve seen so far:

Sales end 3/14/10.

Get $10 off any regularly-priced pair of shoes $10 or more at DSW using coupon code MARCH10 at checkout until 3/15/10.

Buy one pair of women’s shoes at Target and get 50% off the second pair until 3/20/10. Get free shipping if you spend $50 or more on qualifying items.

Get an additional 20% off shoes at ShoeSteal using coupon code SPRING20 until 3/21/10.

Nine West takes an additional 25% off select spring shoes and shipping is free on any order.  The discount is taken at checkout and the expiration is unknown.

ALDO now takes 70% off the original price on select women’s shoes and women’s boots in the clearance section.  The expiration is unknown.

Here’s to finding some great shoe shopping bargains this weekend!

Shoe Buzz: Original runway shoes by Christian Siriano available at Payless

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

I’ve been watching the Christian Siriano for Payless collection for awhile and I, like many others, had to rant on how toned down the shoes ended up being compared to the runway shoes once they were available for sale (you can see those posts here and here).  For example, the first blue shoe pictured above was translated into this:

It’s ok, but not what you would call Christian Siriano “fierce”, right?  So, I was glad to hear on The Cut that Payless did end up releasing the straight-from-the-runway versions of Siriano’s shoes and I had to go check them out for myself.  And guess what?  They are practically sold out already!  They might be completely gone by the time I post this considering there is only one size left in the All Done Up Mary Jane Pump (pictured in the middle).  The limited-edition shoes are priced higher-than-usual for Payless at $79.99 each, but these sold a lot quicker than the toned down pairs.  I have to say, way to go Payless!

Update 3/13/10: They are now completely sold out.

Now I’m hoping they’ll do the same for the Christian Siriano Fall 2010 collection.  You can see those shoes at NitroliciousUpdate: We have word that select fall 2010 runway styles will be sold at Payless in September for under $50.

Sale Spotlight: Extra 20% off Paris Hilton Sashay & more shoes at Macy’s

Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

Macy’s is having a Weekend Sale right now that marks down the price on hundreds of women’s shoes.  You also get an additional 20% off your order with coupon code VIP20 - which even works on sale and clearance shoes (sweet!).  I’m loving several of the styles they offer, like the Paris Hilton Sashay (pictured above) with studded platform.  It’s on sale for $79.99 (regularly $99) in grey, black or purple and you can get it for $63.99 after code.  Here are some more of my picks from the sale:

Carlos Santana Entrance in bronze or pewter for $89 before code, $71.20 after.

Marc Fisher Hoken in red, black, snake or pewter on sale for $59.99 (regularly $79).  Get them for $47.99 after coupon.

Calvin Klein Dylan for $119 before code, $95.20 after.

Steve Madden Loyyall on sale in black, blue, blush or yellow for $62.30 (regularly $89).  Get them for $49.84 after coupon.

DKNYC Odetta in black or ash for $120 before coupon, $96 after.

The code expires 3/14/10 and some exclusions may apply.

Message from Princess: Lucky green shoes for St. Patrick’s Day

Monday, March 8th, 2010

With St. Patrick’s Day coming up on March 17, I’ve definitely had green shoes on my mind.  While some people don’t necessarily do anything to celebrate the holiday, I think it’s fun to get in the spirit by wearing something green (plus, you’ll avoid a good pinch by St. Patty’s Day revelers on the prowl for anyone not donning the hue).  There are lots of ways to incorporate green into your wardrobe for the Irish holiday, but let’s face it - it’s a great excuse to wear some fabulous green shoes.  Of course, as an added benefit, you can get plenty of wear from a freshly-picked green pair during spring as well.  Here are some of my favorite green shoes that are sure to bring plenty of luck:

So. cute.  The Harajuku Lovers Avallon for $99.95 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Fergie Empower in spinach for $99 at Shoes.com with free shipping.  Apply coupon code MSAVE for 20% off, making them $79.20.  They also come in a lighter shade of green called wheatgrass.

Carlos Santana Glamorous for $55.20 (MSRP $110) at 6pm.

Get a little funky with the Naughty Monkey Knot Sure in green.  The best price is at Amazon for $20-$28 depending on selection, but few sizes are left.  Zappos has them in plenty of sizes for $68.95.

Get even funkier with the Irregular Choice Shimmmy, which will obviously stand out in a major way.  Get these for $120.95 with free 2-day shipping at Endless.

Go for simple and sweet with the Miss Me Monet-5 ankle boot for $39.95 with free shipping from Amazon.

Nine West Beaulah for $83.97 (MSRP $119.95) at 6pm.

The elegant Calvin Klein Daliah for $71 (MSRP $118) at 6pm.

This one strikes me as having a true St. Patty’s Day vibe.  The Carlos Santana Rome for $89 with free shipping at Shoes.com.  Coupon code MSAVE takes them down to $71.20.

Spring-ready: The SM Ven Rosette Wedge in green for $39.95 at DSW.  Take $10 off orders $10 or more with coupon code MARCH10 at checkout (must sign in to use codes), making them $29.95.

Michael Antonio Hagen for $64.95 with free overnight shipping at Endless.

Seychelles Yin for $46 (MSRP $80) at 6pm.

Now, here’s a few of Cheap Chick’s picks for green shoes under $25.  These are all from 6pm:

Steven by Steve Madden Tummble for $22.35 (MSRP $149).

Converse Chuck Taylor Seasonal Hi in green for $23.29 (MSRP $45).

Zigi NY Gemma for $17.98 (MSRP $44.95).

Schutz 31601002 for $17.40 (MSRP $116).

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone and may the luck o’ the cute green shoes be with you.
