Naughty Monkey Resurrection Champagne Heels for $63.71 at ShoeMall

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

I’m definitely feeling the shoe love for this pair, the Naughty Monkey Resurrection.  I’m all about the tough-chick, edgy look we’ve been seeing everywhere, but sometimes a delicate, girly pair is the only thing that will do - and this pair is most certainly feminine.  In particular, if you’re a bride-to-be looking for champagne pumps for yourself or your bridesmaids, this would be a gorgeous choice.  But, even if you’re not walking down the aisle anytime soon, you can still dress up your feet in satin, sequins and ruffles just to feel pretty - for any occasion.  For additional color options, check out the wine and black versions:

You can get this pair at Shoemall for $74.95.  Apply coupon code 15AMAZON for an additional 15% off at checkout, making them $63.71 with free shipping.  Coupon expiration is unknown.

Find My Shoes: Shoes worn by Randi on So You Think You Can Dance

Monday, November 16th, 2009

I got an email from Heather, who needs help locating a pair of shoes she spotted while attending the So You Think You Can Dance live show in Omaha.  It was a pair worn by Randi, seen here dancing in the show, one shoe on and one shoe off (click to see larger size):

Great pics, Heather!  I didn’t get the scoop on why she had only one shoe on, but I imagine it probably fell off during the dance.  Show must go on, right?  Her shoes appear to be a python or snakeskin print with a black heel, super-high platform and red sole.  Of course, the red sole usually indicates Christian Louboutin, but I don’t see anything currently on the market that looks exactly like this.  Here are some Christian Louboutin python heels that are available:

Christian Louboutin Rolando for $1,195 at Barney’s

Christian Louboutin Python Feticha for $1,170 at Barney’s

Christian Louboutin Python Pump for $1,335 at Saks Fifth Avenue

If the shoes are Louboutin, I think they could be from a previous collection that’s now sold out.  Like this pair I saw on Ebay with a black heel (the auction has now ended, but you can scroll down to see the listing):

Of course, a red sole does not always mean it’s Louboutin, so I also looked for this shoe under a wide range of other brands.  I did not end up finding the exact shoe, but I did find several look-alike styles:

Seychelles Barn Dance at Karmaloop for $65.  Coupon code SEARCH7 (exp. unknown) gives free shipping at checkout.  Also available at Endless for $89.95 with free overnight shipping.

Guess by Marciano Barrie for $147.95 with free overnight shipping at Endless. In addition, another $25 is taken off at checkout (exp. unknown).

Here’s a brand known to use red soles and this particular one looks quite similar to the Louboutin Ebay pair pictured above.  The Oh Deer! Rinna is $76.99 at ShoeSteal (get an extra 25% off with code FALL25 until 11/16/09) or $131.99 at Heels.com or $131 at Shoesale.com, but sizes are limited at each.

Penny Loves Kenny Grace for $79.95 at DSW.  Members get free shipping on $35 with coupon code SNOWMAN until 1/4/10.

Guess Buckle Detail Python Stilettos for $265 at FarFetch.com.  Update: Here’s the similar Guess Kudrow available at Macy’s for $74.99.

Stuart Weitzman Platvogue for $187 with free shipping at Zappos.  Another option with a black heel and platform is the Stuart Weitzman Salvo for $178.

Steve Madden Graace for $99.95 at Steve Madden.  Get free shipping with coupon code SMFREESHIP or spend $100 or more to get 15% off and free shipping with coupon code SMSAVE15 until 11/19/09.

The Miss Me Jocelyn 1 has the super-high platform, but unfortunately it’s only available in a size 9 at Amazon for $46.74 or Endless for $45.33, although you never know if it might be re-released.  Another option from this brand is the Miss Me Joanne 4 at DSW for $29.95.

Update: Here’s a new arrival at Nordstrom with a similar look, the Via Spiga Mindy for $215.

Update 2: Love this option, the Pelle Moda Wren for $192 at Shopbop.com.

If anyone recognizes the exact pair Randi is wearing here, leave a comment and help fellow shoe sister Heather out!

More or Less: Brian Atwood Lola look-alike by N.Y.L.A.

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

Atwood

Love the Brian Atwood Lola?  Well, Rachel Zoe certainly does, but unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be available for sale anywhere online.  Saks had it for $655 and Net-A-Porter for $680, but they are now sold out.

N.Y.L.A.

But, we do have a Brian Atwood Lola knock-off by N.Y.L.A currently available.  The N.Y.L.A. Bandit in leopard or black can be found at DSW for $89.95.  New DSW customers can get $10 off $49 with coupon code SHOP10 (exp. 11/15/09) or any customer can get $5 off $49 with code NOVPKG (exp. unknown), both stackable with free shipping on $35 for members with code SNOWMAN (exp. 1/4/10).  DSW codes typically require account login.  Update: DSW is sold out, but you can get the same pair at Amazon for $119.95 or at Endless for the same price.

Here’s another similar pair, the Paradox Sandal by Boutique for $230 at Topshop.

And another: The Miz Moos Besso on sale for $49.99 at Infinity Shoes.

Shoe Buzz: Jimmy Choo H&M line launches today + Jimmy Choo speaks

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

It’s the day many have been eagerly waiting for - the Jimmy Choo for H&M line is now available in-store.  I can just imagine the madness, which was reportedly at an all-time high even compared to H&M’s previous designer launches.  Eager shoppers camped outside stores and waited in line, some in wind and rain, to get their hands on the collection.  Here’s a few reports of what’s going on at the stores from Telegraph.co.uk, Shiny Style, and UK Press Association.

I don’t have an H&M selling Jimmy Choo in my area and, although I’d certainly love to have a pair of the shoes, I’m not too sorry about missing the mayhem.  But, since it’s the big day for H&M and Jimmy Choo, I thought you might enjoy this recent article about Jimmy Choo.  I’m talking the Jimmy Choo, the actual person who originally founded the company with Tamara Mellon.  He’s no longer involved with the company due to conflicting ideas with Mellon about where the company was heading and a desire to spend more time with his family.  He also got back to his craft, the art of making shoes, and now creates custom shoes for individual clients under his Jimmy Choo Couture label.  For each pair, “every angle and arch of his clients’ feet are meticulously measured”.  It’s a skill his shoe-maker father taught him from a young age and he says the tradition of shoe making is ”dying or going abroad to Italy, where there is more manufacturing, or China, where labour is cheap”.

He also talks about Lady Diana, who he says was pivotal in his success, and how he made her last pair of shoes before she died, a pair of gold pumps.  It’s a good read and I thought you might like it too.
