Heidi Klum just announced that she will be starting a shoe line, becoming the latest celeb to try her hand at designing shoes. The line will be a lifestyle collection that will start with footwear and later include things like apparel and swimwear. This isn’t a first for fashion-vet Heidi, who has previously designed shoes for Birkenstock, but the supermodel mom plans a different (and presumably less comfy) direction for her upcoming line. They are said to be “feminine with a bit of a fashion and rock ‘n’ roll edge” and inspired by Heidi’s own closet.
At this point, I think many of us tend to groan when hearing of yet another celebrity line (like the recent Dina Lohan announcement), but I think I’ll give this one the benefit of the doubt. I have to admit that Heidi always looks gorgeous and she has the kind of style people can look up to (which does go a long way when launching a line), but she also appears to have some kind of super-woman power, allowing her to juggle being a wife to musician Seal, having four children (her fourth child was just born this month!), bouncing back after said-pregnancies with lightning-quick speed, hosting Project Runway, being a supermodel, having a Barbie made in her likeness and on and on. I don’t know how she does it, but she seems to do it with ease (and style), so hopefully her line will offer something special too.
It’s slated to be released in fall 2010 and there’s no word on where they’ll be sold, but I’m going to take a guess and say Victoria’s Secret.
I also have to point out that this woman really knows how to dress-up for Halloween. She goes all out.

If there’s one thing I learned from season 2 of The Rachel Zoe Project, it’s that sequins are super-hot. Rachel wore sequins several times on the show and says on her website, “virtually every designer sent sequins flying down the runways” for fall. It’s an ideal time for a sequin trend given how perfect they are for holiday party wear, but sequins are no longer relegated to just evening looks. They can add instant glam to just about anything, even simple jeans and a tee. In particular, I like sequins on shoes because it’s a great way to apply the trend without the risk of overdoing it. Plus, when you have shiny, happy feet, the rest of you tends to feel that way too. So, go ahead, add a little sparkle to your life in one of these pretty pairs:
Betsey Johnson Kanata in blue or magenta for $200 with free shipping at Zappos. I so need these in my life. Like immediately. Update: The blue version of the Kanata is now $204 at Zappos, but the magenta pair is now marked down to $160.
The gorgeous Nina Erna pump in burgundy or black for $99.95 at Shoemall. Get 15% off with code 15AMAZON, which makes them $84.96 with free shipping.
Sparkle and save in the Forever 21 Sequin Holiday Pump. It’s just $22.80 and comes in black or gold.
Or, get another low-priced pair in pink, the Wet Seal Sequin Pump for $24.50 at Wet Seal. It also comes in gold or silver.
Go for a gold pair with this Lumiani Jeanna for $105 with free shipping at Zappos.
Lose the heel, not the shine, in the Free People Eclipse Sequin Flat. It comes in blue, pink or black and is on sale for $49.95 (originally $88).
Spend even less on a sequin flat at American Eagle. The AE Sequin Flat in black or silver is $34.50.
Or, get a dolled-up pair of sequin sneakers, like the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Sequins shoe for $85 at Converse.com. Spend less with the Gotta Flurt Sparkle Sequin Sneaker for $29.95 at DSW or the high-top Sequin High shoe for $28.99 at LoveMyShoes (coupon S15FALL takes 15% off until 10/23).

Kim from the Real Housewives of Atlanta wore Christian Louboutin Glitter Peep-Toe Slingbacks tonight on the show finale (drama!). If you’re a size 7.5 or 10.5 with a fully-loaded wallet, get them at Saks Fifth Avenue for $745. Update: Kim actually wore a closed-toe style, which is likely the Pigalle 120 crystal pump shown here in gold on Coolspotters (or the Samira Strass shown on Purse Blog), but there are similar styles (some are sold out). The multi-colored Christian Louboutin Glitter Slingback Platform Pump is available for pre-order at Neiman Marcus for $745 or get a red or blue Glittered Platform Pump for $775. The Christian Louboutin Glitter Pump in nude or pink is priced at $595. The closed-toe Christian Louboutin Ron Ron in silver is $595 at Barney’s. Update 2: The Christian Louboutin Peep-Toe Glitter Pump in multi-platinum is $725 at Saks (some sizes are on pre-order). Update 3: The Christian Louboutin Sexy Sling Glittered Stiletto for $595 at Bergdorf.

The official Betsey Johnson website doesn’t offer coupon codes all that often, but when they do, they do it with a bang (in typical Betsey style). They’ve just released three coupon codes that’ll knock your purchase down an additional $75-$200 depending on how much you spend. You get $75 off $200 with BIGSPEND200, $125 off $300 with BIGSPEND300 and $200 off $400 with BIGSPEND400. It even applies to sale items! So, this is when math can be quite fun and there are a few ways you can work this deal to your best advantage:
Option 1: Get $75 off one pair

The Betsey Johnson Capri in black is on sale for $206.50. Get $75 off using code BIGSPEND200, bringing your total to $131.50. I don’t see this boot for a better price anywhere right now.
Option 2: Get $125 off 2 pairs

At $150 each, the Betsey Johnson Caleb and the Betsey Johnson Cala meet the $300 minimum for code BIGSPEND300. When bought together, they total $175 after discount. That’s only $25 more than either one by themselves.
Option 3: Get $200 off 3 pairs
The Betsey Johnson Calder, the Betsey Johnson Carlos and the Betsey Johnson Gen are normally $408 when bought together. Use code BIGSPEND400 and get all three for $208 with free shipping. That’s like getting the $200 leopard bootie for free.
There are plenty of other possibilities here, so check out the Betsey Johnson shoes and get a great deal for yourself before this deal expires on 10/25/09.

Anticipation just keeps building for the Jimmy Choo H&M Collection, which will hit stores November 14. As I reported before, there were preview photos circulating the internet back in September, but we can go straight to the source now that H&M offers a Jimmy Choo for H&M Collection preview video right on their website. So, you may be wondering about the price points. The video and slide show provide prices for a few of the shoes and they are all in the $69.99-$99.99 range, but their over-the-knee boot is reported to be $299 (in comparison, a regular Jimmy Choo OTK boot will set you back well over $1,000). So, what about quality? Jimmy Choo founder Tamara Mellon tells WWD “It was a challenge for us to create high-quality pieces at an H&M price point”, but all of the shoes will be made from real leather.
This marks a couple firsts for both H&M and Jimmy Choo. It’s H&M’s first designer shoe line and it’s the first time Jimmy Choo has delved into designing apparel, which is also included in this collection. Although original Jimmy Choo lovers may worry that a budget line may dilute the luxury brand, this won’t be an on-going strategy for the company. Chief executive Joshua Schulman tells the New York Times:
““The H&M project is a ‘flash,’ a ‘moment in time’ and as such allows us to explore a younger client base and other product categories for a limited time basis…[it isn't] an ongoing diffusion strategy in any way.”
However, Jimmy Choo does have plans to expand in other areas to further transition into a “lifestyle” brand. According to the NYT article, they plan to introduce Jimmy Choo scarves, expand their handbag and eyewear lines and develop a Jimmy Choo fragrance, in addition to other luxury items.
“We remain deeply committed to our overall luxury positioning,” says Schulman. In other words, if you love the Jimmy Choo H&M Collection like I do, get in on it while you can. Find a store near you here.
Update: The preview video/slideshow is no longer available at the above links, but you can see their new information here. It looks like some of the price points have changed as well. Most of the shoes are now $129-149, but there are some pairs that were listed at $69.99-$99.99 before.

Piperlime is having quite the sweet sale (hence the name Sweet Deal Event), that takes 30% off a selection of shoes. You’ll find boots, flats, heels, sneakers, Rachel Zoe picks and more in this sale, but I have to say I’m all about the boots on this one. Work the OTK boot trend with this Chinese Laundry Nikka in gray, which is marked down from $160 to $109.50. As always, shipping is free. Sale ends 10/25/09.

In their latest round of one-day sales, 6pm has all Max Studio shoes for $49.95 and Sam Edelman shoes for $19.95, which is up to 75% off retail. I like this Max Studio Filament pair in black, dark brown or camel for a go-to strappy sandal. This Sam Edelman Allyson zebra flat is also a cute choice. Sale ends 10/21/09.
