Message From Princess: I feel the shoe love today

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!  With this weekend being both Valentine’s Day and President’s Day, we’ve seen a lot of shoe sales going on, many of which I’ve featured here in the past few days.  Now I want to shift the focus to some individual pairs of shoes.  In honor of the big day of love, here are some shoes that I love.  Hopefully, you’ll like them too!

Free People Rice Paper Sandals This is a truly unique pair of shoes.  That’s because they’re made of recycled rice, detergent and storage bags, so each pair varies in color and design.  I love that these shoes help the environment by re-using items that would normally go to a landfill, but they’re also super-cute, which makes being eco-chic that much more fun.  They are available at Free People for $48.

Poetic Licence Tea Party This shoe somehow manages to make green leopard, pale pink roses with blue leaves, a bright red sole and a standout rose ornament look fabulous all at once.  I also love the well-placed leaf-shaped cutouts.  This pretty pair is available at Planet Shoes for $115.

Dr. Martens Jenna Ankle Boot I normally associate Dr. Martens with the classic, chunky style boots they offer, but I really like this lighter, more-streamlined ankle boot.  It’s a simple, but chic boot that actually looks like it might be comfortable too.  Zappos has this pair for $82 with free shipping.

L.A.M.B. Tammy This shoe is definitely hot.  The overall design of this strappy platform pump is spot-on and I love the contrast of the naturally-colored heel and gold zipper detail against the black.  This pair is offered by Zappos in black or brown for $374.

Chinese Laundry Kingwood These quirky ankle boots are whimsical and fun without being too over the top.  It’s a suede style with fringe detail and star-shaped cutouts covering the shaft.  I think this pair would look great with leggings or tights in practically any shade.  Zappos has them for $107.06 with free shipping.

Christian Louboutin Fringe Cutout Boot I’m not saying I love this boot, but I do love seeing the more outrageous, out-there styles from Christian Louboutin because it’s fun and interesting.  I have to admit that seeing this lion-like pair and other wild styles, like C.L.’s Carnaval heel with decorative plumage, is akin to running across a rare, exotic creature in the wild – fascinating, but untouchable at $1695 (from Bergdorf Goodman).  That’s a bit too splurgalicious for most of us, although I think certain people out there could really rock this style.

Hope you enjoyed the shoe love today and have a great holiday weekend!
